STUDENTS

SENIORS AND PARENTS- FAFSA for Seniors Only – Wednesday, Nov. 9 at 6:30 PM in the Student Union.  Tamara Lewis, Financial Aid Counselor from ULV, will provide information on the changes to the FASFA this year, tips for completing the application, and the next steps after you submit the application.

STUDENTS- The list of Students who qualify for perfect attendance are now posted on the attendance windows. Please stop by and see if you are in the running for the big end of the year drawing!

SENIORS- Yearbook is now accepting senior dedication ads. Senior Dedication ads are a great way to personalize the yearbook.  Please use the attached form or visit the school website.  Dedication space is limited so purchase early.

STUDENTS AND PARENTS- We do not accept drop off/ forgotten items in the front office.

PARENTS

COFFEE WITH THE PRINCIPAL- is this Thursday, Nov 3rd from 8:00am to 9:00am in the Conference room.  Please come to discuss topics on the BHS campus in an open forum.

PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES- parents may schedule a conference with their student’s teacher or counselor by visiting our website, https://bonitahigh.net/ and click on Parent-Teacher Conferences, or email nix@bonita.k12.ca.us, or call 909-971-8220 x2054.  This year we are using an on-line scheduler which should make the process for making appointments more convenient for parents.

ACTIVITIES

THEATER- Bonita High School presents The Diary of Anne Frank! Show times are Wednesday November 2nd through Saturday November 5th.  Doors will open at 7 p.m. and the play will start at 7:30.

Presale ticket prices from the Finance Office are as follows:

$5 for BHS students with ASB.

$6 for general students.

$7 for adults.

This recent adaptation of the play offers a fresh take on the Frank and Van Daan families. Performances will be held at the Bonita Center for the Arts in San Dimas (822 W Covina Blvd, San Dimas, CA 91773)

HALLOWEEN DRESS CODE- Plan your dress code appropriate costumes for today.  This includes paint free faces and no fake weapons of any kind. Costume contests will be planned and prizes will be given away.

DODGEBALL- The annual dodgeball tournament will start the first week of November.  Paperwork is available outside of room 704 at break and lunch all week.  No teams will be scheduled until their completed paperwork is turned in and verified.

PTSA- Bonita HS Personalized Pavers are now on sale for only $150 each. Have your name engraved on a paver for our “Walk of Fame” in the entrance of the school. Hurry, and purchase your spots in the original “Walk of Fame”! It is a memory that will last for years, so don’t miss out! They also make great Holiday gifts. COLLEGE & CAREER

VISIONARY SCHOLARSHIP- Students are invited to apply for our 2017-2018 Visionary Scholarship. All high school students (grades 9-12) are eligible to apply. ATHLETICS

CROSS COUNTRY- Thursday, November 10th at Hillcrest. Tickets can be purchased at the Finance Office with checks made out to Bonita High School. Athletes who made a Spirit Pack donation can purchase (1) discounted ticket for $5. All other tickets are $20 for anyone planning to attend.

D STREET- Last night D Street performed at Glendora Chevrolet’s Halloween dance off. The performance will be posted on their Facebook page soon.  If the team gets 500 likes they will receive $500! You can also see the special Halloween performance on Monday during 2nd lunch in the old gym. D Street would like to thank everyone for their support especially Mr. Podley and Mr. Hanson.

GIRLS TENNIS-The tennis banquet will be held on Monday, November 14th from 6-9PM at the Sierra La Verne Country Club. The cost is $25 per person and must be paid to the finance office before Wednesday, November 2nd. If you have any questions, please contact Carla Aguirre at aguirreslaverne@verizon.net.

GOLF- All returning golfers need to see Coach Sanchez in room 307 for the Christmas Tree fundraiser.

GIRLS SOCCER- Tryouts will be held October 31st-November 4th on the soccer fields from 2:45-5 PM.

FIELD HOCKEY- End of the season banquet will be held at Sierra La Verne Country Club (Terrace Room) on November 16th at 6 PM. Each guest is $25 and must be paid to the finance office before November 8th.

BOYS SOCCER- Tryouts will be held November 7th-8th at the soccer fields from 3-4:30 PM. Parent meeting for all players who make the team Monday, November 14th from 6-8 p.m. Additional details to follow.

BOY’S BASKETBALL- Tryouts will be held on November 5th from 8-9:30 AM in the new gym.

WRESTLING- Tryouts will be from November 7th-11th from 2:45-4:30 PM in the wrestling room.
