STUDENTS
STUDENTS- Peer Tutoring has started in the library. Hours: Mon – Thurs: 2:45 – 3:45; Tues, Wed: 6:00 – 7:00 PM. No appointment necessary – first come, first served.
STUDENTS AND PARENTS- We do not accept drop off/ forgotten items in the front office.
ACTIVITIES
BHS BOOSTERS- will be meeting in the Library on Thursday, October 13th at 6 PM.
PTSA- Bonita HS Personalized Pavers are now on sale for only $150 each. Have your name engraved on a paver for our “Walk of Fame” in the entrance of the school. Hurry, and purchase your spots in the original “Walk of Fame”! It is a memory that will last for years, so don’t miss out! They also make great holiday gifts. COLLEGE & CAREER
PSAT– Kaplan Test Prep is offering free live and recorded sessions from Oct. 11th thru the Oct. 17th to prepare for the PSAT at www.kaptest.com/PSAT/PrepLive . In addition, there will be lessons specifically devoted to contenders for the National Merit Scholarship on Monday, called Advanced PSAT Math & Advanced PSAT Verbal on Monday, October 17th.
CAREER CENTER-Reps from Vanderbilt University and Cal Baptist University will be here today and a rep from the University of La Verne will be here on Thursday. See Mrs. O’Grady in the Career/College Center to sign up to attend these or other presentations. Vanderbilt University, located in Nashville, Tennessee, is a private research university and medical center. California Baptist University is a private, Christian, liberal arts university located in Riverside, California, United States. The University of La Verne is a nationally recognized private university offering its students distinctive educational programs and personal growth.
COLLEGE FAIR-The SoCal College Fair will be at the Pomona Fairplex on Tuesday, October 18th from 9am-1pm and 5pm-8pm. Admission is free and there is free parking at the Sheraton Fairplex Conference Center. Many college reps will be there and they also offer several free seminars. Please see attached flyer for more information. There will be a College Fair Field Trip on October 18th available for the first 50 interested students who sign up with Mrs. O’Grady in the Career Center.
VISIONARY SCHOLARSHIP- Students are invited to apply for our 2017-2018 Visionary Scholarship. All high school students (grades 9-12) are eligible to apply. ATHLETICS
WRESTLING- There is a mandatory meeting for all returners and potential new members on Wednesday, October 12th after school in the wrestling room.
BOYS SOCCER- Tryouts will be held November 7th-8th at the soccer fields from 3-4:30 PM.
GIRLS SOCCER- Tryouts will be held October 31st-November 4th on the soccer fields from 2:45-5 PM.
BOY’S BASKETBALL- Tryouts will be held on November 5th from 8-9:30 AM in the new gym.
GIRL’S BASKETBALL- Tryouts will be held on October 25th from 3:45- 5 PM in the old gym.
WRESTLING- Tryouts will be from November 7th-11th from 2:45-4:30 PM in the wrestling room.
SOFTBALL –All non-returning BHS players, tryouts will be held October 11th -14th from 3-5 PM at Las Flores Park. The first cut will be posted on the 14th at the field at Las Flores Park; those players that make the list and all returners will be invited to continue to try out October 18th-21st, 3-5 PM. For any players who are involved in a fall sport that cannot tryout, there will be separate session at the beginning of February.
