STUDENTS
STUDENTS- try out the Bonita Burger Bar at lunch today. The café will be barbecuing turkey, beef or veggie patties. The complete lunch meal costs $3.25
STUDENTS- If you have dropped a class since registration, please return any textbooks that are no longer needed to the library as soon as possible.
STUDENTS- Peer Tutoring has started in the library. Hours: Mon – Thurs: 2:45 – 3:45; Tues, Wed: 6:00 – 7:00 PM. No appointment necessary – first come, first served.
STUDENTS AND PARENTS- We do not accept drop off/ forgotten items in the front office.
STUDENTS AND PARENTS- All students on the Free/Reduced Meal Program must reapply at the beginning of each school year to continue to receive meals. Students who have not reapplied and been approved will have to pay full price for their meals beginning October 4th this year. Applications are available online through the District website, at all lunch serving areas and at the front office, and can be turned in to any kitchen employee.
ACTIVITIES
PTSA- Bonita HS Personalized Pavers are now on sale for only $150 each. Have your name engraved on a paver for our “Walk of Fame” in the entrance of the school. Hurry, and purchase your spots in the original “Walk of Fame”! It is a memory that will last for years, so don’t miss out! They also make great holiday gifts. COLLEGE & CAREER
JUNIORS- The ACI Institute, a premier SAT Preparation school in Diamond Bar will award 10 SAT study-scholarships to selected students in the nearby communities. Students will have the opportunity to prepare for the January, March, and May 2017 SAT test. This study-scholarship is only valid at ACI Institute in Diamond Bar. Students that are applying should have a G.P.A. of a 3.5 or higher and plan on attending a 4 year college in the U.S. Application deadline is at midnight on October 1, 2016. VISIONARY SCHOLARSHIP- Students are invited to apply for our 2017-2018 Visionary Scholarship. All high school students (grades 9-12) are eligible to apply. More information is available in the Career Center or by emailing Mrs. O’Grady at ogrady@bonita.k12.ca.us.
ATHLETICS-
BOYS SOCCER- Tryouts will be held November 3rd-4th at the soccer fields from 3-5:30 PM.
GIRLS SOCCER- Tryouts will be held October 31st-November 4th on the soccer fields from 2:45-5 PM.
BOY’S BASKETBALL- Tryouts will be held on November 5th from 8-9:30 AM in the new gym.
GIRL’S BASKETBALL- Tryouts will be held on October 25th from 3:45- 5 PM in the old gym.
WRESTLING- Tryouts will be from November 7th-11th from 2:45-4:30 PM in the wrestling room.
SOFTBALL –All non-returning BHS players, tryouts will be held October 11th -14th from 3-5 PM at Las Flores Park. The first cut will be posted on the 14th at the field at Las Flores Park; those players that make the list and all returners will be invited to continue to try out October 18th-21st, 3-5 PM. For any players who are involved in a fall sport that cannot tryout, there will be separate session at the beginning of February.
