STUDENTS- Peer Tutoring has stared in the library. Hours: Mon – Thurs: 2:45 – 3:45; Tues, Wed: 6:00 – 7:00 PM.  No appointment necessary – first come, first served.

ACTIVITIES

PTSA- Bonita HS Personalized Pavers are now on sale for only $150 each. Have your name engraved on a paver for our “Walk of Fame” in the entrance of the school. Hurry, and purchase your spots in the original “Walk of Fame”!! PTSA will have forms at the Homecoming Game. Come by and get more information. COLLEGE & CAREER

CAREER CENTER- A representative from Brown University will be here during 6th period today. Brown University is a private, Ivy League research university in Providence, Rhode Island. Sign up in with Mrs. O’Grady in the Career/college center during lunch today. This week: Representatives from Colorado State, the University of San Francisco, and the Army will be giving presentations in the Career/College Center this week. Colorado State University is a public research university located in Fort Collins, in the U.S. state of Colorado. The University of San Francisco is a Jesuit school where you learn how to lead, succeed, and turn your learning into positive action. JUNIORS- The ACI Institute, a premier SAT Preparation school in Diamond Bar will award 10 SAT study-scholarships to selected students in the nearby communities. Students will have the opportunity to prepare for the January, March, and May 2017 SAT test. This study-scholarship is only valid at ACI Institute in Diamond Bar. Students that are applying should have a G.P.A. of a 3.5 or higher and plan on attending a 4 year college in the U.S. Application deadline is at midnight on October 1, 2016. VISIONARY SCHOLARSHIP- Students are invited to apply for our 2017-2018 Visionary Scholarship. All high school students (grades 9-12) are eligible to apply. More information is available in the Career Center or by emailing Mrs. O’Grady at ogrady@bonita.k12.ca.us.

ATHLETICS-

FOOTBALL- will be participating in the Touchdowns against Cancer to fundraise for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. All donations will go directly to the treatment and care for children effected by this horrible disease. SOFTBALL – All non-returning BHS players who are wanting to tryout, tryouts will be held October 11th-14th from 3-5 PM at Las Flores Park. A list of players will be posted on the 14th at the field at Las Flores Park and those players that make the list; they will be invited to continue to try out the following week. October 18th-21st from 3-5 PM will be for all players who made the list from first tryouts and/or are returning softball players from a BHS team last year. For any players who are involved in fall/winter sports that cannot make tryouts, there will be separate tryout at the beginning of February that will be announced.
