Block Schedule – Monday & Tuesday, April 25th & 26th, 2016

STUDENTS

SENIORS – mandatory meeting today, April 22nd, 4th period in the New Gym.  Jostens will be distributing graduation announcements and other purchased gear.

JUNIORS if you are interested in joining the therapy dog training program for senior project, applications are available at https://bonitahigh.net/activities/clubs/therapy-dog-training-program/.?  An informative meeting will be held in room 509 during lunch on Monday, April 25th.  Email Mrs. Black or stop by room 509 after school if you have any questions.

STUDENTSPTSA scholarship applications for seniors are available in the Career Center during lunch. The deadline to turn this back in to Mrs. O’Grady is Monday, May 2nd.

STUDENTS Summer School Class Rosters will be posted Monday, May 2nd on the attendance windows.  Students are responsible for verifying that their name is on a list, schedules of classes will not be sent home.

STUDENTS Link Crew applications for next year are available in Mr. Eichen’s room 408. They are due back to Mr. Eichen by Friday, April 29th.

STUDENTS AND PARENTS – Don’t forget to PREORDER your yearbook.  Yearbooks sell out every year. $100 with ASB/$120 without.  Payment should be made to the finance office.

SENIORS – Grad Nite 2016…..”A Nite at the Carnival”, Thursday, June 9th, 10pm-5:30am.  Tickets $160.00 and the last day to purchase is April 28th. We are also still in need of 2 additional chaperones for this year’s Grad Nite. If you are interested, please contact Debbie Moran at 909/638-9247/ debmoran3@aol.com.

PARENTS – updated school calendar attached.  Please note changes; the minimum day originally scheduled on Thursday, May 26th will now be Monday, May 23rd.

PARENTS AND STUDENTS – Graduation is June 9th, 6:00 PM in the Glenn Davis Stadium. All seniors will receive 6 tickets.  The gates will open at 5:00 PM for ticket holders.  Non-ticket holders will be admitted at approximately 6:00 PM. Handicapped seating is on the field with one family member.  There is no reserving of seats.  There will be plenty of extra seating in the end zone.

PARENTS – Summer School is June 13th thru July 15th   from 7:40 AM-1:00 PM. There will be no classes on Monday, July 4th.

COLLEGE AND CAREER

PARENTS AND STUDENTS the NACAC is holding a National College Fair this Wednesday, April 27th at Ontario Convention Center and Thursday, April 28th at the Pasadena Convention Center. It is a free event and open to the public. If you are interested in hearing valuable information from hundreds of Colleges and Universities, please register online at www.nationcalcollegefair.org.

ACTIVITIES

D STREET – tryouts will be held June 2nd– & 3rd from 4-6pm and Saturday, June 4th between 9am-2pm.  Applications are available in the main office and the career center.   For more information please see Mrs. O’Grady.

BAND will be hosting a Family Dinner Night tonight, April 21st at Wahfles Café from 5-10 PM. 20% of all the sales will benefit The Marching Bearcats. Flyers are available at the front desk or please visit www.lvbba.org for more information.

STUDENTS – Prom is May 28th at “The Hacienda” in Santa Ana from 7 PM-11PM.  Tickets will go on sale April 25th-May 25th.  The tickets will start at $60 with ASB; $65 without (per ticket price) and increase each week as we get closer to the date. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call the front desk.

CHEER – tryouts will be held Saturday, May 7th in the gym. If you are planning on trying out, please stop by the front desk or Mrs. Kniss’ room 203 to pick up a packet.  It must be filled out and turned in before April 22nd.

ATHLETICS

ALL SPORTS BHS Athletics is hosting a Pre-Season Physical Fundraiser at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center.  It is Monday, May 9th at 6 PM and physicals are $30 per person. Please contact Michelle Okayama for an appointment and requirements; please contact at m.okayama@bonita.k12.ca.us.

ALL SPORTSSudden cardiac arrest is the #1 killer of Student Athletes. Bonita is hosting a cardiac screening for all Athletes ages 12-24, for free on Saturday, April 30th. To register for your free cardiac screening please pre-register at www.savingheartsfoundation.com.
