“WHAT’S NEW”

 

STUDENTS- Battle of the Bands is coming to the Bonita High School Student Union this Friday, May 6th at 7pm.  Come out and see our very own bearcats rock the stage to see who will be crowned the Bonita’s Best Band.  There will be 3 student bands as well as our very own teacher band, In Danger of Failing featuring Mr. Eichen, Mr. Mullen, Mr. Dworak, Mr. Bird and a very special guest performer. Tickets are $5 presale and $7 at the door and can be purchased from any participating band member or see Mr. Bird in the band room.

EVERYONE- Bonita PTSA is having a eWaste fundraiser this Saturday, May 7th. Please tell your family, friends and classmates.  Thank you for showing your support to our PTSA. See attached flyer.

EVERYONE- In honor of John Halberg, Bonita will be hosting a Blood drive on May 17th from 12 -6pm in the Library. If you would like to donate and help to save a life, visit this link to schedule an appointment. (https://www.idonateblood4hope.org/index.cfm?group=op&expand=6352&zc=91750​) Each donor will receive a $10 In-And-Out gift card to say Thanks for saving a life. If you are 16 or 17 years old, you will need a permission slip, located in 506, 201 or the front office.

 

STUDENTS- Prom Permission Slips are available in the office. Prom will be on May 21st at LA Center Studios. Tickets are on sale NOW until May 6th for $75 with ASB and $85 without. On May 9th tickets prices will increase to $90 with ASB and $100 without. On May 16th the prices will increase again to $110 with ASB and $120 without. The last day to purchase tickets is May 18th. All outside guest ticket prices are the same as non-ASB prices.

“BHS NEWS”

 

SENIORS- If you haven’t ordered your cap & gown yet, you can order online at www.jostens.com.  Make sure you place your order as soon as possible to ensure you will have a cap & gown in your size for your special occasion.  Questions, call Jostens at 909-464-9063.

 

PARENTS/STUDENTS- We do not accept drop off or forgotten items in the front office. We are unable to call students out of class and disrupt classrooms for drop offs. It is the responsibility of the party dropping off items to get ahold of the student and coordinate a pick up time in the main office during passing periods, break or lunch. We will not be able to make any exceptions. We thank you in advance for your understanding.

 

PARENTS AND GUARDIANS- Please see the attached California School Parent Survey letter.  The letter explains the survey and at the bottom of the page, provides your URL and access instructions.  Your participation is voluntary.

PARENTS/STUDENTS- Bonita USD has again partnered with Paper – this means students in grades 3 -12 now have access to on-demand, high-quality academic support 24/7. Through Paper, students can speak to a tutor anytime, anywhere for free. Students already have access through Clever, https://clever.com/in/busd

 

STUDENTS AND PARENTS- Our Peer Tutoring Hours are Monday – Thursday 2:45pm – 3:45pm (1:45pm – 2:45pm on Compact Days) in the Library AND Monday – Thursday 6:00pm – 7:00pm Via ZOOM!!

NO APPOINTMENTS NEEDED!!! Just show up!!!

Attention all students/parents:

Please remember that we have a school dress code that is available on this bulletin.  As the weather gets warmer, please remember:

Clothing that may be considered inappropriate include, but are not limited to, skirts and shorts that do not cover the posterior at all times, halter tops, tube tops, off-the-shoulder tops, and bare midriffs.  Tank tops must have a strap on each side and over the entire torso.

STUDENTS– are not permitted to loiter, mingle, eat lunch and set out chairs in the parking lot at lunch so that we may maintain the safety of everyone.

 

 

“SUMMER SCHOOL”

STUDENTS- Summer school begins on June 13th through July 15th. There will be no school on June 20th (Juneteenth Holiday) and July 4th (Independence Day Holiday).  The hours are 7:30am to 1:15pm, Monday through Friday.

“SENIOR SCHOLARSHIPS”

 

SENIORS- First District PTA is offering scholarships. Please see the flyer attached for the 2022 Senior Scholarship information.

 

“BHS ATHLETICS”

 

SAVE THE DATE- Pre-participation Physical Exams will be held on campus for athletes on Monday, June 6th starting at 3:00pm. More information TBA.

STUDENTS- Volleyball tryouts for current Bearcats will be held on May 23rd from 4-6:30pm in the gym. Please make sure you have a new updated physical for the 2022-2023 year.
