“WHAT’S NEW”

EVERYONE- The Bonita High School Color Guard and Drumline will be holding a car wash this Saturday, March 26th from 8am-12pm at the Carl’s Jr. on the corner of Foothill and Wheeler.  Each car wash is $10.  Come out and support these great programs!

 

CONGRATULATIONS to the music department for 3 stellar performances this past weekend!

Jazz Ensemble received unanimous superior ratings at the Bonita Unified School District Jazz Festival at the Bonita Center for the Arts

Color Guard finished first in their division at the Rancho Cucamonga High School WGASC competition, see banner at the end of the bulletin.

Drumline finished 5th out 14 groups at the SCPA competition at Great Oak High School in Temecula

Great job Bearcats!

 

STUDENTS- if you completed the Link Crew interest form by March 18th, an email regarding the application process has been sent to your school email account. Please follow the instructions contained in the email. All application materials are due by Friday April 15th.

“BHS NEWS”

SENIORS- The next step toward finalizing your application with Mt Sac is to complete the ASSESSMENT QUESTIONNAIRE.

This MT SAC WORKSHOP will be held on Thursday, March 24th during 7th period or for an hour after school (for those with a 7th period class) in the library. Please bring your transcript and Chromebook with you.

 

STUDENTS- ages 15½ and up the City of La Verne is hiring Lifeguards. Deadline to apply for Swim Instructors is March 23rd.

Certification Classes offered through the city – contact Renee Romero amor2swim@yahoo.com for information regarding certification classes DO NOT NEED CERTIFICATION BEFORE APPLYING.  This is done after applicant is hired.

Apply at the City of La Verne Recreation department or go online to the City of La Verne website.

STUDENTS- summer school begins on June 13th through July 15th. There will be no school on June 20th (Juneteenth Holiday) and July 4th (Independence Day Holiday).  The hours are 7:30am to 1:15pm, Monday through Friday.

SPIRIT- The 2021-22 Spirit Banquet will be on Wednesday, April 13th at 6:00pm at Mountain Meadows Golf Course. The cost is $25 per person. Senior spirit members can attend at no charge. Please pay in the Finance Office between March 17th through April 5th.

 

STUDENTS AND FAMILIES- Grab $15 presale tickets to our spring musical The Little Shop of Horrors.  Show dates are April 14, 15, and 16t .  With doors opening at 7pm and the show starting promptly at 7:30.  See flyer attached.

SENIORS- If you haven’t ordered your cap & gown yet.  You can order online at www.jostens.com.  Make sure you place your order as soon as possible to ensure you will have a cap & gown in your size for your special occasion.  Questions, call Jostens at 909-464-9063

PARENTS AND GUARDIANS- please see the attached California School Parent Survey letter.  The letter explains the survey and at the bottom of the page, provides your URL and access instructions.  Your participation is voluntary.

PARENTS/STUDENTS- Bonita USD has again partnered with Paper – this means students in grades 3 -12 now have access to on-demand, high-quality academic support 24/7. Through Paper, students can speak to a tutor anytime, anywhere for free. Students already have access through Clever, https://clever.com/in/busd.  See attached memo.

 

STUDENTS AND PARENTS- Our Peer Tutoring Hours are Monday – Thursday 2:45pm – 3:45pm (1:45pm – 2:45pm on Compact Days) in the Library AND Monday – Thursday 6:00pm – 7:00pm Via ZOOM!!

NO APPOINTMENTS NEEDED!!! Just show up!!!

“SENIOR SCHOLARSHIPS”

SENIORS- The La Verne Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the 2022 scholarship program is open for applications. Through the generosity of the members there will be over $5,000 to distribute this year.
The eligibility requirements have been updated this year to include 2022 graduating seniors whose primary residence is in La Verne or attend High School in the City of La Verne.  Please see the application attached with all the information.

“BHS ATHLETICS”

 WRESTLERS- The 2021-22 Banquet will be on Tuesday, March 22nd at 6:00pm in the wrestling room. The cost is $15 for adults and $10 for kids ages 10 and under. Wrestlers can attend for no charge. Please pay in the Finance Office between March 8th to 18th. Wrestlers need to let the finance office know if you plan on attending so we can get an accurate count. Thank you!

PARENTS-  Athletic Booster meeting is Thursday, April 14th at 6:30pm in the library.

Congratulations to Color Guard First Place Finish!
