“WHAT’S NEW”
PARENTS AND STUDENTS– Pre-registration for next year’s courses takes place on-line through Thursday. Please refer to the packet distributed in English classes or the attached documents. Late registrants may be placed on a wait list for impacted courses.
“BHS NEWS”
PARENTS OF SENIORS – YEARBOOK UPDATE- even though the deadline has passed, there is a limited amount of senior recognition ad space left in this year’s 2022 yearbook. If you are still interested, please don’t delay and submit your senior’s ad ASAP. The last day we will be able to accept late ads is February 1st or until the available space runs out, whichever comes first. https://theyearbookcompany.com/
STUDENTS- Parking permits are no longer available. Students who do not have a parking permit will need to find parking on streets where parking is permitted near the school.
STUDENTS AND PARENTS- American Red Cross is having a blood drive at Bonita on February 16th from 1pm-7pm. All donors will receive a $10 Amazon E-gift card. See attached flyer for more details.

PARENTS- Thank you for the response to serve on our School Site Council. We’ve had many responses and will need to hold an election. We will keep you posted on the details soon.
ALL STUDENTS- The Spring 2022 CSF Application is now available to submit your Fall 2021 grades. The deadline for the application is Friday, January 28th. PARENTS/STUDENTS- Bonita USD has again partnered with Paper – this means students in grades 3 -12 now have access to on-demand, high-quality academic support 24/7. Through Paper, students can speak to a tutor anytime, anywhere for free. Students already have access through Clever, https://clever.com/in/busd. See attached memo.
STUDENTS AND PARENTS- Our Peer Tutoring Hours are Monday – Thursday 2:45pm – 3:45pm (1:45pm – 2:45pm on Compact Days) in the Library AND Monday – Thursday 6:00pm – 7:00pm Via ZOOM!!
NO APPOINTMENTS NEEDED!!! Just show up!!!

PARENTS- Our updated school calendar is attached. Parent conferences will now take place on March 8th and we will have a minimum day on March 9th. We will move the currently scheduled minimum day on February 28th to March 9th, therefore there will no longer be a minimum day on February 28th.
STUDENTS- if you need Free Tax Help, the Accounting students can help. See Mrs. Sekhri in Room 906.
STUDENTS- are not permitted to go their cars during the school day. Please bring all necessary supplies, snacks, water, etc into school at the beginning of the day.
“SENIOR SCHOLARSHIPS”
SENIORS- The La Verne Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the 2022 scholarship program is open for applications. Through the generosity of the members there will be over $5,000 to distribute this year.
The eligibility requirements have been updated this year to include 2022 graduating seniors whose primary residence is in La Verne or attend High School in the City of La Verne. Please see the application attached with all the information.

SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY– The Latino & Latina Roundtable of the San Gabriel & Pomona Valleys have established a $500 scholarship for students that plan to attend a university or community college, and have interests in social consciousness and activism. Please see the ATTACHED SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION for more details. Deadline is March 1, 2022.
“CAREER CENTER”
10th – 12th GRADE SUTDENTS- The ASVAB Career Exploration exam will be available for students 10th – 12th grade at Bonita on Friday, February 18th.
The ASVAB Career Exploration Program can help students understand their skills, abilities, and interests in order to make the best decisions about their future.
Whether planning on college, technical school, military, or unsure, the ASVAB Career Exploration Program is designed to help students find their dream job.
SIGN UP: Email Mrs. O’Grady at ogrady@bonita.k12.ca.us, go to the career center, or see your counselor no later than February 14th.
“BHS ATHLETICS”
BOYS SOCCER CHIPOTLE FUND RAISER- on Wednesday, February 2nd from 4:00-8:00pm at Chipotle, 2298 Foothill Blvd, La Verne. Please see flyer attached.
STUDENTS- the Dive meeting is Thursday, February 3rd at 6:30pm in P1.
BOOSTER MEETING- will be on Thursday, February 10th at 6:30pm (location TBD).
PARENTS- Athletic event tickets will all be sold ONLINE only. You can purchase your tickets from www.gofan.co and look up Bonita High School events. Tickets will be redeemed on your electronic device at the gate/entrance by our staff member. You will need to show the actual ticket not a screen shot or picture.
