“WHAT’S NEW”
WRESTLING- the Bonita Wrestling Team is holding a Fruit Sale Fundraiser from now until April 16th. Please check out the flyer or go directly to the website https://shop.floridaindianrivergroves.com/ecommerce/1023468 to purchase your boxes of fruit and assorted nuts. You will place the order and pay online. The fruit will be picked fresh and mailed directly to your home. Please help the wrestling team by ordering your fruit today and sending the website and flyer to friends and family so they can order their fruit as well! Thank you!
WRESTLING- The wrestling program is still looking for people to be a part of the team! We are in need of both boys and girls; all shapes and sizes; no matter what grade level! Currently we are practicing from 4-6 on field two by the baseball field. If you are interested in joining, come on out! It doesn’t hurt to give it a try! Please make sure you have a completed physical and have done the online clearance forms. You can also contact Coach Froh at r.froh@bonita.k12.ca.us.
“ADDITIONAL BHS NEWS”
BEARCATS FANS IN THE STANDS-Would you like to show your Bearcat spirit and have your face seen at our home football games, and possibly our home basketball games? We will be placing cardboard cutouts of our Bearcat fans in our student section. Each cut out is $30. Once purchased, it will take about 1 week to produce. At the end of the year you will be able to take your cutout home with you! First, order you Bearcat Fans in the Stands here. (Links to an external site.) After you have made your purchase, you will upload your picture here: http://bit.ly/fanstands
PARENTS- All families should have received an email indicating the Group assignment for their students. Students with siblings have been placed in the same Group. In order that the number of students in each class lie within the parameters set by the County Dept. of Health, we will not be able to make changes to anyone’s Group assignment. A survey is forthcoming from the district office that will allow parents to indicate whether they want their student to remain in remote learning, or join the school on a hybrid schedule according to the assigned Group.
WEST ED SURVEY- As with every year, we would like you to fill out the West Ed survey from Panorama. The results of this survey are used in our SARC (School Accountability Report Card) and in our LCAP (Local Control and Accountability Plan). These results help guide what programs we need to direct funding to. If you can take a few minutes to fill this survey out, we would greatly appreciate it. The survey link is: https://wested.ugam-apps.com/wed/ts/tQQN.
LA VERNE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE 2021 SCHOLARSHIP- is for graduating seniors whose primary residence is La Verne, CA who will be attending a vocational/technical school, a Community College or four-year college or university. Please see attached flyer for all the information. The deadline for receipt of application and transcripts is TOMORROW, March 26, 2021; 1:00 PM
GOBEARCATS.ORG AND ATHLETICS- as things continue to change and we continue to adjust with CIF allowing certain sports to resume, we wanted to make sure all Parents are aware of our amazing athletic website, Gobearcats.org. We will continue to post all sports information and forms to this website, including tryout information and game updates. We also have options to watch sporting events via our website. This can be such a great way to keep up with the athletic department here at BHS and to be current on all the latest updates. Also, with specific questions geared towards certain tryouts or sports information, it would be best to get the information directly from the coach. Please see the attached form for the main email contact for each sport. Please reach out to them via email in regards to tryout information or CIF updates on practices or testing.
PHYSICALS- Please see the attached athletic physical form. This is the form that we need to be filled out by a physician and returned or uploaded back into CIFathleticcleareance.com. The only form we accept in place of our physical form is the Kaiser Permanente physical form. Our recommended location to receive a physical (if not seeing your normal physician) is through the Pomona Valley Clinic. If dropping off a physical form to the office, please note that it is open from 8 AM-3 PM, but there is a drop slot in the door if you prefer to drop off.
FINANCIAL AID FRIDAYS- are now in full swing from 1:00-2:00pm every Friday. To attend go to bit.ly/fafridays and you will receive live assistance for graduating seniors needing additional support completing their FAFSA or CADA.
OUTREACH VIRTUAL HELP CENTER- every Tuesday, starting Tuesday, March 23 to Tuesday, June 29 http://bit.ly/hsocenter The High School Outreach team will be available to assist graduating seniors with any Mt. SAC related questions such as: enrollment, Connect 4, how-to, financial aid, and more!
