“WHAT’S NEW”
CSF STUDENTS- make your payments of $5 to the front desk at Bonita. Please bring exact change, all payments are due by March 12th. Check the Google Classroom page for more information and if you have any questions email Mr. Guillen.
SENIORS AND PARENTS- the PRIORITY DEADLINE for the FAFSA Application is TOMORROW March 2nd!! The FAFSA is required for ALL colleges (4-year and community) in order to receive any kind of aid (grants, scholarships, work-study, loans etc.). Most importantly, if you are applying to Citrus College PROMISE PROGRAM, you will ONLY RECEIVE FREE TUITION IF YOU HAVE A COMPLETED FAFSA APPLICATION.
If you have not completed this application, please make sure it is done so by the deadline in order to receive funds available to you for next school year. The steps to complete this application are listed below. If you have additional questions or concerns, please contact your counselor. Website: https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa.You will need your parents 2019 tax returns.
Steps:
1) Click Start Here
2) Go in as “Student”
3) Click Create FSA ID Link https://studentaid.gov/fsa-id/create-account/launch
You will need to create a FSA ID for you and one parent
4) Once FSA ID is created, go back to FAFSA Login page and use your FSA username and password that you created
5) Follow along the steps, add ALL schools (it will allow you to add up to 10).
“ADDITIONAL BHS NEWS”
SPRING BREAK- will be Monday, March 29th – Friday, April 2nd. School will resume Monday, April 5th.
SUMMER SCHOOL- Registration opens online at www.bonitahigh.net Friday, March 12th and closes Friday, March 19th. Online registration does not guarantee placement in the class. Classes may change due to enrollment numbers. Please view the Summer school flyer attached or on the BHS website for more information. Please note, summer school is in session from Monday, June 14th thru Friday, July 16th. July 5th will be observed as a Holiday.
VIRTUAL 8th GRADE PARENT NIGHT– is Monday, March 8th at 6:30pm. 8th grade Parent/Guardians will receive in the mail information from Bonita High School about our school including the web address for the parent information night. Also bonitahigh.net will have the link for the parent/guardian information night. Please join us you won’t want to miss out!

PRE-REGISTRATION- for grades 9-11 is now completed. All students will meet with their counselors during one of their English classes to review their selections; freshmen starting March 8.
MARCH SAT- The original March 3 School Day SAT exam will not be held at Bonita High School. However, we are looking at the possibility of offering a School Day SAT at the end of March. More information on that will be forthcoming in several weeks.
FINANCIAL AID FRIDAYS- are now in full swing from 1:00-2:00pm every Friday. To attend go to bit.ly/fafridays and you will receive live assistance for graduating seniors needing additional support completing their FAFSA or CADA.
OUTREACH VIRTUAL HELP CENTER- every Tuesday, starting Tuesday, March 23 to Tuesday, June 29 http://bit.ly/hsocenter The High School Outreach team will be available to assist graduating seniors with any Mt. SAC related questions such as: enrollment, Connect 4, how-to, financial aid, and more!
FREE TAX HELP BY ACCOUNTING STUDENTS–Students if you need Free Tax Help, the Accounting students can help. Go to bonitahigh.net or Email Ms. Sekhri at m.sekhri@bonita.k12.ca.us for additional information.
LIBRARY BOOK RETURNS/EXCHANGES- If you are needing to exchange or return a book, please call the front office at 909-971-8220 to arrange a pick up and drop off time.

LA VERNE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE 2021 SCHOLARSHIP- is for graduating seniors whose primary residence is La Verne, CA who will be attending a vocational/technical school, a Community College or four-year college or university. Please see attached flyer for all the information. The deadline for receipt of application and transcripts is March 26, 2021; 1:00 PM
GOBEARCATS.ORG- There are currently no winter sports being played. We will give updates as we receive them from CIF and post updates on our sports website. Once sports resume, you will also be able to find try out information, schedules, rosters and game results on this website as well.
