AP STUDENTS AND PARENTSToday is the last day to make payments for the AP exams. The finance office will be open to accept payments.

 “ADDITIONAL BHS NEWS”

FREE PEER TUTORING ON ZOOM- begins November 2nd. Tutors are available in most subjects. Students needing tutoring can attend by signing up the day of tutoring and receiving the zoom link. Tutoring is available Mondays – Thursdays from 2:45-3:45 plus Wednesday evenings from 6-7pm. See attached flyer. Sign up link: https://tinyurl.com/BONITATUTORING

LEADERSHIP 101- 3 week seminar available to your high school seniors.  This class is designed to equip seniors with the tools to tackle real life issues and develop leadership skills as well as connect them with other students from different backgrounds and that have different educational interests. Students will also receive one on one and group mentoring sessions which includes help with applying to colleges, FAFSA, vocational schools, and job opportunities. We also have peer mentors who specialize in working with students with disabilities and undocumented students. At the completion of the program, students will earn:

– A letter of recommendation from Mayor Deborah Robertson

-Certificate of Completion

– Priority consideration for the City of Rialto Internship Program

– Distinguished Leader Graduation cord

The course dates are the first 3 Saturday’s in November: 1 1/7, 11/14, and 11/21 from 8am-12pm. These classes will be taught virtually!

There is a $50 registration fee due at registration appointment where they will meet their peer mentor.

EOP APPLICATION WORKSHOP – Are you a first generation student? Do you come from a historically disadvantaged background? Or do you qualify for Free/Reduced Lunch? If so, you may have questions about the supplemental EOP portion of the CSU application and might want to learn about the benefits of the program. CSUSB is hosting several dates for an EOP Application Workshop. See the attached flyer for online link and upcoming dates (October 28-Dec 3rd).

BOOK RETURNS/EXCHANGES- The library will be open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8 am-3:00 pm for book returns and exchanges. You can also exchange chrome books if needed. Please consult with the Ed tech support center before coming in to exchange.

CHROMEBOOK TROUBLESHOOTING- If you are experiencing a programing issue with your Chromebooks, please email edtech@bonita.k12.ca.us.

PARENTS-Great news! USDA has extended the date for passing out free meals to all Bonita Children 18 & under to June 30, 2021. Please see attached flyer.  From time to time the District receives free USDA Farmers to Families Boxes which contain fresh fruit, veggies and dairy that are passed out during this time along with the free meals.  The District will also be passing out Family Boxes (containing meals for a week) on Monday, November 23rd, Monday, December 21st and Monday, December 28th to cover Winter Break.

TUTORING RESOURCESMt. Sac is now offering free Math and Science tutoring via zoom. Please see attached flyer for registration instructions.

GOBEARCATS.ORG- There are currently no fall sports being played. We will give updates as we receive them from CIF and post updates on our sports website. Once sports resume, you will also be able to find try out information, schedules, rosters and game results on this website as well.
