STUDENTS
STUDENTS- Students if you need Free Tax Help, please see Mrs. Sekhri in Room 906. SENIORS AND PARENTS- CITRUS COLLEGE will be here for an APPLICATION WORKSHOP on Friday February 21st. The Workshop will be held in the Library 6th and 7th period. NO SIGN-UPS REQUIRED. Students must have their Social Security Number in order to complete the online application. By completing this application process at Bonita, students can be offered PRIORITY REGISTRATION and FREE TUITION FOR 2 YEARS! Open to ALL seniors who wish to apply. See your counselor if you have any questions. STUDENTS AND PARENTS- We do not accept drop off or forgotten items in the front office. We are unable to call Students out of class and disrupt classrooms for drop offs. It is the responsibility of the party dropping off items to get ahold of the Student and coordinate a pick up time in the main office during passing periods, break or lunch. We will not be able to make any exceptions. We thank you in advance for your understanding.
PARENTS PARENT CALENDAR UPDATE- Please note changes to our calendar. The May 18th minimum day is now on Tuesday, March 10th. The May 11th Compact Day is now on May 18th. Monday, May 11th is now a regular school day with students released at 2:35pm. The updated calendar is attached. PARENTS- Monday, March 9th will be our 8th Grade Parent Night at Bonita High School. Starting at 5:00pm in the Center Quad there will be a sports and activities information Fair, plus we will have a Taco Man. At 6:15pm in Ketterling Court Gymnasium, we will have a time to get acquainted with Bonita, learn about our school and have your registration questions answered. PARENTS- Spring Break will take place March 23rd-March 27th. School will resume on Monday, March 30th. PARENTS- Summer School will be June 8th thru July 10th. More information to follow. PARENTS- The 2020-2021 school year will start on August 24, 2020.
CAREER CENTER
GRAND CANYON UNIVERSITY- will be here on Thursday, Feb. 20th offering on the spot admission for qualifying seniors. They will also be providing pizza for all who attend. Sign up in the career center or email ogrady@bonita.k12.ca.us to attend. Mt. SAC WORKSHOPS- The final workshop will be on Tuesday March 10th. SPEAKERS WANTED FOR CAREER DAY- If interested, please RSVP by February 24th https://tinyurl.com/BONITACAREERDAY2020 or email Kelly O’Grady at ogrady@bonita.k12.ca.us. (See attached info sheet).
ACTIVITIES
THEATER PLAY/GREASE-Bonita High School’s production of GREASE! will open February 27 and run through February 29th at the Bonita Center for the Arts. Performances will include musicians from Bonita’s prestigious band program underscoring this production. Doors open at 7 pm and admission is $10. There is a special family-friendly sing-along matinee February 29th at 2 pm.
ATHLETICS
GIRLS SOCCER BANQUET- will be held on February 26th from 6-9 PM at Hlllcrest. Tickets are $25 per person and must be purchased with the finance office. The last day to purchase tickets will be February 21st.
BOYS SOCCER BANQUET- will be held on March 30th from 6-9 PM at Mountain Meadows Golf Course. Tickets are $25 per person and must be purchased with the finance office the end of the school day on March 13th.
NFHS LIVE STREAM- We are excited to announce that we will now be offering live streaming for all athletic events that take place in our gym and stadium here at BHS. PTSA
SENIORS-The First District PTSA is offering seniors scholarships in the amount of $750.00. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.0; worked diligently and to the best of their academic abilities; displayed good citizenship in a positive manner; been involved in school and community activities, and; held an after school, part-time or summer job, and/or managed extra home responsibilities. They must also be a senior graduating in 2020, a resident of California, current member of BHS PTSA and in good standing, and plan on attending a college, university trade or tech school in the fall (2020). Application deadline is February 29, 2020 at 3 PM.
