STUDENTS
SENIORS-The First District PTSA is offering seniors scholarships in the amount of $750.00. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.0; worked diligently and to the best of their academic abilities; displayed good citizenship in a positive manner; been involved in school and community activities, and; held an after school, part-time or summer job, and/or managed extra home responsibilities. They must also be a senior graduating in 2020, a resident of California, current member of BHS PTSA and in good standing, and plan on attending a college, university trade or tech school in the fall (2020). Application deadline is February 29, 2020 at 3 PM.
JUNIORS AND PARENTS- Are you interested in preparing for the March 4th SAT School Day Exam? We will be holding an 8-Week Test Prep Class beginning Tuesday January 14th. The course will be held every Tuesday night from 6-9pm and will lead straight into the March 4th Exam. The cost of the course is $250 to be paid to the finance office. See attached flyer for additional information. Additional flyers can be picked up at the front desk. See your counselor if you have any questions.
PARENTS
PARENTS OF SENIORS- Wednesday, December 18th is the final deadline for submitting your child’s senior yearbook dedication ad For more information, to get another copy of the order forms, or to submit online, please visit www.TheYearbookCompany.com. As a reminder, we will be unable to make any exceptions for the dedication deadlines. All dedications need to be submitted before the end of the school day on December 18th.
PARENTS AND STUDENTS- A reminder that all students must take their final exams on the scheduled days of Thursday, December 19th and Friday, December 20th; parents/guardians acknowledged the final exam policy during registration on Info Snap – see attached.
PARENTS- We do not accept drop off or forgotten items in the front office and are unable to make exceptions. If you need to get an item to your Student, please coordinate with your child to meet in the front office during break or lunch. We appreciate your understanding.
CAREER CENTER
PITZER COLLEGE VISIT- A rep from Pitzer College will be visiting Bonita in this month. Please show your interest in this presentation by signing up with Mrs. O’Grady in the Career Center. Pitzer College is a private residential liberal arts college in Claremont, California. One of the Claremont Colleges, the college has an emphasis on the social sciences, behavioral sciences, international programs, and media studies.
ACTIVITIES
STUDENTS- This week we will have Holiday Dress Days. Wednesday will holiday sweaters, Thursday will be holiday accessories, and Friday will be pajamas. Make sure to participate and stop by ASB at break or lunch and get your ID card scanned for action points.
ATHLETICS
BHS BOYS AND GIRLS SOCCER- We would like to invite all of you to the BHS stadium on Saturday, January 4 to cheer on the BHS varsity girls and boys as they participate in their annual soccer game against the alumni. The game time for girls is 11:30am and the time for the boys game will be 1pm. We will have taco man and drinks/candy, along with a 50/50 raffle. If you are an alumni who would like to participate in the game, please email bonitasoccer@hotmail.com and provide to us your name, year you graduated and shirt size. Cost to play is $10. PTSA
BHS PTSA Association Meeting will be held on January 7th at 6 PM in the BHS Conference room in the main office. They will be discussing election of nominating committee and approving expenditures. One lucky member will even receive a free Chick-fil-A sandwich coupon. Please see the attached flier for further information.
