STUDENTS

 

STUDENTS-The First District PTSA  is offering seniors scholarships in the amount of $750.00.  Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.0; worked diligently and to the best of their academic abilities; displayed good citizenship in a positive manner; been involved in school and community activities, and; held an after school, part-time or summer job, and/or managed extra home responsibilities.  They must also be a senior graduating in 2020, a resident of California, current member of BHS PTSA and in good standing, and plan on attending a college, university trade or tech school in the fall (2020).  Application deadline is February 29, 2020 at 3 PM.

 

JUNIORS AND PARENTS- Are you interested in preparing for the March 4th SAT School Day Exam? We will be holding an 8-Week Test Prep Class beginning Tuesday January 14th. The course will be held every Tuesday night from 6-9pm and will lead straight into the March 4th Exam.  The cost of the course is $250 to be paid to the finance office.  See attached flyer for additional information. Additional flyers can be picked up at the front desk. See your counselor if you have any questions.

 

JUNIORS AND PARENTS- Please look for the mailer sent home to register for the March 4 SAT that will take place on campus at no cost to you.  The district is paying the SAT taken on campus that day – the attached permission form must be submitted to Mrs. Sullivan in the main office by December 11.

PARENTS

 

PARENTS AND STUDENTS- A reminder that all students must take their final exams on the scheduled days of December 19 & 20; parents/guardians acknowledged the final exam policy during registration on Info Snap – see attached.

PARENTS- We thank you and your family for being our valued partners as we work together to educate the children in our district. ​Bonita USD​ values input from our community – and we need to hear from your child(ren)! They are important partners as we work to improve our communication, academic program and overall experience for students and their families. PARENTS- We do not accept drop off or forgotten items in the front office and are unable to make exceptions. If you need to get an item to your Student, please coordinate with your child to meet in the front office during break or lunch. We appreciate your understanding.

 

PARENTS OF SENIORS-  If you would like to purchase a Senior Ad for the yearbook visit www.TheYearbookCompany.com.  Space is limited. Final day for placing an order is December 13th.  Thank you for supporting the yearbook.

 

CAREER CENTER

 

 

MT SAC- The next Mt. SAC workshops are December 11th and 12th in the Library. Students can attend either day during either 6th or 7th period. If you have missed any workshops it is not too late to join. See Mrs. O’Grady in the Career Center for more information.

 

PITZER COLLEGE VISIT- A rep from Pitzer College will be visiting Bonita in this month. Please show your interest in this presentation by signing up with Mrs. O’Grady in the Career Center. Pitzer College is a private residential liberal arts college in Claremont, California. One of the Claremont Colleges, the college has an emphasis on the social sciences, behavioral sciences, international programs, and media studies.

ACTIVITIES

WINTER DANCE SHOW-The Winter dance show is next Saturday, December 14th. Tickets are $5 and available in the old gym during break every day.

JAZZ HOLIDAY CONCERT- The Bonita High School Jazz Ensemble will be presenting their Holiday Concert with the Ramona Middle School Jazz Band this Friday night, December 6th at 7pm at the Bonita Center for the Arts.  Tickets are $5 and will be available at the door and doors open at 6:30 pm.

TAMALE FUNDRAISER-The Bonita High School Marching Bearcats are selling tamales by the dozen this holiday season.  If you are interested in supporting the program, download the attached form or head over to www.lvbba.org and click on the “Tamale Orders Here” tab in the middle of the homepage.  Tamales are available in beef, chicken or cheese varieties and are $24/dozen.  We are accepting orders up until 12/6 and tamales will be available for pick-up on 12/15.

ATHLETICS

 

DISTANCE TRACK MEETING- will be on Monday after school at 2:45 outside the weight room. If you are interested in going out for distance track, please attend.

 

NFHS LIVE STREAM- We are excited to announce that we will now be offering live streaming for all athletic events that take place in our gym and stadium here at BHS. Please see the attached form to sign up for your subscription!

PTSA

 

PTSA FUNDRAISER- the PTSA will be hosting a fundraiser on December 9th at Red Devil Pizza in La Verne from 11 AM to 10 PM. This will apply to all dine in, to go, and delivery orders. Please see flier attached for details.

 

Bonita PTSA needs your help (Students, Parents, and Teachers)

We are seeking three people plus one alternate for our nominating committee. We are looking for a combination of new and/or experienced people. The nominating committee will be responsible for electing next year’s PTSA board and will meet a couple times before our general election in March. Students, Teachers and Parents are encourage to submit your name. You must be an active member of PTSA to be on the committee.
