STUDENTS

SENIORS AND JUNIORS-  Are you considering attending a college out of state and wish to learn more about some of the options? Bonita counselors are accompanying a limited amount of students to an Out of State College Fair in Diamond Bar on Tuesday, Oct. 22nd. The bus departs at 8:00 am and it will be returning to school before noon. Space is limited, so if you are interested, please see Mrs. Nix as soon as possible to pick up a permission slip.

PSAT- Students who have registered for the PSAT may pick up a Student Guide in the attendance office.  The guide contains important information about the PSAT and a mock exam for you to practice.  The PSAT exam will occur on campus on Wednesday, October 16, in both gyms.  More information to follow.

JUNIORS AND SENIORS & PARENTS/ SAT  PREP CLASS- This Monday September 30th is the last day to register for the SAT Prep Class. The course will be held every Tuesday evening from 6-9pm starting October 15th through December 3rd. The cost of the course is $250 and must be paid to the finance office with the registration form. Please see attached flyer for additional information.

SKATEBOARDS- may not be ridden on campus at any time.  All skateboards must be locked up in the area provided.  Students are responsible for locking up their skateboards each morning before class.  Skateboards that are being carried around campus will be confiscated and held in the front office for parent pick up.

 

PARENTS

PARENTS- As a reminder, please make sure we are not dropping off Students in the staff parking lot or parking in staff parking spaces.

PARENTS- Friday, October 4th there will be no school as it is a Student free day at BHS.

PARENTS- We do not accept drop off or forgotten items in the front office and are unable to make exceptions. If you need to get an item to your Student, please coordinate with your child to meet in the front office during break or lunch. We will not be able to make exceptions. We appreciate your understanding.

PARENTS OF SENIORS-  If you would like to purchase a Senior Ad for the yearbook visit www.TheYearbookCompany.com.  Space is limited.  Early bird prices are until November 15th then prices go up.  Final day for placing an order is December 13th.  Thank you for supporting the yearbook.

 

CAREER CENTER

AFRICAN AMERICAN 9th GRADE— 12th GRADE STUDENTS-   College and Career Readiness Summit will be taking place Sunday, October 27th from 1 PM-5:30 PM  at The Village at Indian Hill Conference Center. This is free for high school students. Highlights include: Scholarships on the spot; college application and personal statement assistance; workshops for college and career planning; exploration of our nation’s HBCUs…and more! Parents/Guardians are welcome to attend – See attached flyer for registration information

FAFSA WORKSHOP- Get FREE help filling out your financial aid application! High school seniors and parents are encouraged to attend this event to obtain assistance with completing the FAFSA/CA Dream Act Application. Staff will assist students and parents in a group setting. ACTIVITIES

CSF- The $5 payment for CSF is due by Friday to the finance office.  A list of eligible students is posted on google classroom and there will be a hard copy list outside of room 807 for students to check your eligibility.  If you have any questions, see Mr. Guillen.

HOMECOMING PERMISSION SLIPS- Permission slips for Homecoming are available today in the front office.  Your permission slip will need to be completed and signed off by the library and administration before you can buy tickets.  Tickets go on sale on Monday, September 30th. Tickets will be $50 with an ASB card, and $55 without (3% will be added to all tickets purchased with credit card). Prices will increase on Monday, October 7th, so be sure to buy your tickets early and get your permission slips cleared.

HOMECOMING- will be at the Discovery Cube in Santa Ana on October 26th from 7 to 11 PM.  Tickets include admission to the dance. Transportation and food is not provided.

 

ATHLETICS

DIG PINK- Plan to join us on Friday, September 27th for our annual Dig Pink volleyball match against Ayala.  Doors will open for the varsity game at 4:00 pm.  Adults are $5 and children are $2.  Jamba Juice and Chick-fil-A will be available for purchase.  20% of the proceeds will go toward the Side Out Foundation which is the breast cancer association tied to volleyball teams across the nation.  In addition, there will be a bake sale and raffle prizes. All the proceeds for the bake sale and raffle with go to the Side Out Foundation.  Join the Bearcats as we seek to find a cure for breast cancer.  Wear pink!!

PTSA

CLOTHING DRIVE- PTSA is having a Clothing Drive this Saturday September 28th. You can drop off bags in front of BHS from 9am-12pm on Saturday. Please place the following items in trash bag: clothes, paired shoes, gloves, hats, sheets, towels, drapes, purses, belts, and stuffed animals. Please see attached flyer for more details.
