STUDENTS

PSAT- Students who have registered for the PSAT may pick up a Student Guide in the attendance office.  The guide contains important information about the PSAT and a mock exam for you to practice.  The PSAT exam will occur on campus on Wednesday, October 16, in both gyms.  More information to follow.

STUDENTS AND PARENTS-  Please be aware that counselors will be attending a series of conferences over the next two weeks and will be unavailable: Thursday, Sept 12, until 12:30 PM; Wednesday, Sept. 18, until 12:30 PM; Thursday, Sept. 19, until 12:30; Friday, Sept. 20, all day.  You may email any concerns that need addressing to the counselors and Mr. Pizzolo; also any administrator can help address immediate concerns.  Thank you for understanding.

JUNIORS AND SENIORS & PARENTS/ SAT  PREP CLASS- Are you interested in improving your SAT SCORE? Bonita will be hosting an SAT Prep Class this FALL in preparation for the December 7th SAT Exam. See the attached flyer for details. Space is limited to the first 30 students; the cost of the course is $250 and must be paid to the finance office by Monday September 30th.

STUDENTS- Ms. Contreras is looking for classroom aides 2-6th period. Please stop in at break or lunch if you are interested.

PARENTS

PARENTS- As a reminder, please make sure we are not dropping off Students in the staff parking lot or parking in staff parking spaces.

PARENTS OF SENIORS-  If you would like to purchase a Senior Ad for the yearbook visit www.TheYearbookCompany.com.  Space is limited.  Early bird prices are until November 15th then prices go up.  Final day for placing an order is December 13th.  Thank you for supporting the yearbook.

PARENTS- We do not accept drop off or forgotten items in the front office. If you need to get an item to your Student, please coordinate with your child to meet in the front office during break or lunch. We will not be able to make exceptions. We appreciate your understanding.

CAREER CENTER

MARINES- A rep from the Marines will be here during lunch today, September 11th. Please see Mrs. O’Grady in the Career Center to sign up.

CARNEGIE MELLON- A rep from Carnegie Mellon will give a presentation during 7th period tomorrow, Thursday, September 12th. Sign up in the Career Center with Mrs. O’Grady to attend. Carnegie Mellon is known for its programs in science and technology, but its seven schools and colleges include the College of Fine Arts and the Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences.

COLLEGE VISITS- Please see the attached form for upcoming college visits. See Mrs. O’Grady in the Career Center at break or lunch to sign up.

ACTIVITIES

SMUDGEPOT FOOTBALL TICKETS- Tickets are on sale at the front desk with Mrs. Venegas for our upcoming Smudgepot game vs. San Dimas High. Tickets are $10 per adult and $7 per child, cash only.  Students with ASB are free. Office hours are 7:15 AM to 3:45 PM. The last day to purchase tickets in the office will be Friday, September 13th at 12 PM- Noon.

DODGEBALL- Our Dodgeball tournament will be September 17 – October 3rd.  If you’re interested in signing up, head over to the ASB room during break or after lunch.

ATHLETICS

THE FISH BOWL- Come out and cheer on the boys Waterpolo team this Thursday at San Dimas High School at 3:15 as our boys battle it out for the annual Fish Bowl game. Wear green and support our Bearcats!

BOOSTERS MEETING- this Thursday, at 6:30 PM in the library. Team Parent meeting at 5:30 PM before booster meeting.

BOYS BASKETBALL- All freshman and sophomore boys who are interested in playing basketball and are new to Bonita high school, please see Coach Godley  in Room 706 at break for information on tryouts.
