STUDENTS
JUNIORS & PARENTS: Juniors who are registered for the March SAT must report to a pre-administration meeting next Wednesday, February 27, during period 5 in the new gym. Students will complete the paperwork required for the SAT exam – those students with period 5 intervention should report directly to the gym where attendance will be recorded. There will be no off campus for all juniors on Wednesday during period 5.
AP STUDENTS & PARENTS – Students have received registration information for this year’s AP exams. Please read all the information on the green sheets and the process for payment of these exams. Registration is open until March 20th.
STUDENTS – The ASVAB scores will be given out on Friday during 7th period in the Library.
STUDENTS – Students that need help with their 2018 tax returns may see Mrs. Sekhri in room 906.
STUDENTS & PARENTS- We are no longer selling parking permits; the student parking lot is full.
PARENTS
FREE TAX HELP – If you had a job last year, get your taxes electronically filed FREE. Receive your refund within a few weeks. Mrs. Sekhri’s Accounting class is filing free tax returns for students and tax payers with income below $55,000. Get an intake sheet from Mrs. Sekhri and bring it in along with your W-2, Social Security card, and if possible, a copy of last year’s tax return along with any 1099’s you received.
PARENTS- We do not accept drop off/forgotten items in the front office. If you need to get an item to your student, please coordinate with your child to meet in the school office during break or lunch. We will not be able to make exceptions. We appreciate your understanding.
SCHOLARSHIPS
ATTENTION SENIORS – First District PTA Commemorative Scholarship applications are available. Scholarships being awarded are in the amount of $750. Student eligibility: Must be a 2019 graduating high school senior, resident of California, current member of Bonita PTSA in good standing, and plan to attend a college, university, trade or tech school in the fall (2019). Deadline to turn in application is 3/22/19.(See attachment for more information and application).
ALL SENIORS – There are many scholarship opportunities available to seniors. Please see the attached Scholarship Newsletter and College Bound Scholarship 2019 document for the many available options as well as links to other sites offering help finding scholarships.
ACTIVITIES
PTSA
The PTSA is still selling personalized pavers. They make great graduation gifts too! Thank you for your continued support of the PTSA. (Flyer attached)
CAREER CENTER
STUDENTS – On February 28th Grand Canyon University will be at Bonita offering on the spot admissions and scholarships for those who qualify. The workshop will be available to students during 7th period in the Career Center as well as after school for parents and students until 3:30pm. See Mrs. O’Grady for more details.
SEEKING GUEST SPEAKERS FOR CAREER DAY – If you or someone you know are willing to participate in the March 27th Career Day event, please register on the Bonita website www.bonitahigh.net or contact Kelly O’Grady at ogrady@bonita.k12.ca.us.
STUDENTS- After school tutoring is available Monday through Thursdays until 3:45 and Tuesday and Wednesday evenings 6pm-7. For more information please see Mrs. O’Grady in the Career Center.
STUDENTS- Please see Mrs. O’Grady in the Career Center to pick up work permits, tutor applications and sign up for college presentations during intervention and lunch.
ATHLETICS
BOOSTERS – The next Booster meeting will be held March 14, 2019. Booster meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of every month.
GIRLS WATER POLO BANQUET – Girls Water Polo Banquet will be held on Monday, March 11th at 6:30pm at Sierra LaVerne Country Club. Athletes tickets are paid for this year. Tickets for all others attending are $25 per person. Tickets can be purchased at the Finance Office until March 1st. Tickets will NOT be sold at the door. The last day to purchase tickets will be FRIDAY, March 1st. No exceptions.
BOYS BASKETBALL BANQUET – Banquet will take place on Monday, March 25th, at 6:00pm at San Dimas Canyon Golf Course. The cost is $25.00 per person and tickets may be purchased at the Finance Office. The deadline to purchase tickets is Monday, March 18th.
BOYS SOCCER BANQUET – will take place on Monday March 25th at Mountain Meadows Golf Club at 6:00pm. Tickets are $25.00 and available for purchase at the Finance Office and must be purchased by March 15th. Tickets will not be sold at the door – no exceptions.
