STUDENTS

STUDENTS AND PARENTS- The last page of the pre-registration packet must be submitted to the Attendance Office today, Thursday, February 8th.  On-line registration will close midnight (Wednesday evening).  If you have trouble entering one or more courses through Aeries.net on-line, be sure to write these courses on the hard copy being submitted on Thursday.  Any courses missing on-line will be adjusted based on hard copy requests.

STUDENTS- Students if you need Free Tax Help, please see Mrs. Sekhri in Room 906.

STUDENTS AND PARENTS- Bonita High School is now offering Saturday Academy.  Students can get additional assistance in classes you are enrolled in, recover instruction or get support on assignments that were not fully understood.  Course offerings will change each week, depending on instructor availability.  Be sure to check the web site weekly for classes offered.  To sign up, go to our web site.  See flyer attached.

STUDENTS AND PARENTS- We do not accept drop off/forgotten items in the front office. If you need to get an item to your Student, please coordinate with your child to meet in the Office during break or lunch. See the attached bell schedule for times.

PARENTS

COFFEE WITH THE PRINCIPAL- will be this Friday, February 9th from 8:30 AM-9:30 AM in the conference room.  Please come and discuss topics on the BHS campus in an open forum.


PARENTS AND STUDENTS-
Please be aware that some local high school students have been receiving phone calls with the preface of needing personal information in order to collect a scholarship. We are not affiliated with any organization that would be calling Students to gain personal information over the phone to provide financial aid. Please exercise caution when handling your financial aid and scholarship applications.

ACTIVITIES

BLOOD DRIVE- Anatomy is hosting its annual blood drive next Tuesday, February 13th in the Student Union from 1 PM -7 PM with City of Hope hospital. We would love for you to participate and with the adjusted hours we hope that more people are able to join us after work. Appointments can be booked using this link: BONITA HIGH SCHOOL SCHEDULE

Requirements for ALL DONORS:

  • weigh over 120 pounds
  • a photo ID
  • Eating something nutritious and drinking plenty of water before giving blood

If a donor is between the ages of 16 and 17 they must have a signed permission slip (please see attached). It takes between 45-60 minutes to donate blood. City of Hope gives all donors snacks and a gift. Thank you in advance for saving lives!

STUDENTS- Glow the Night Away at the Sadie Hawkins Dance.  The dance is this Friday, February 9th from 7:00 to 10:00 in the New Gym.  Permission slips are at the front desk and in ASB.  Tickets on sale in the Finance office. Ticket prices are $20 w/ASB and $25 w/o/ASB.  The event is Black Light…so wear neon or white! Here are the links for the permission slips as well.

SENIORS- There are three great scholarship opportunities available to seniors who are current PTA members. First District scholarship applications are available in the front office or online at http://pta1.org/. All applications for the First District PTA scholarship are to be turned into the front office no later than Tuesday, March 23, 2018. CAREER CENTER

STUDENTS- The next Mt. SAC Connect 4 Workshop is this Friday, February 9th for students wishing to apply to Mt. SAC and get priority registration.  It is available 6th or 7th period, students attend one period or the other.

STUDENTS– Information regarding the Rotary Scholarship is available in the Career Center.

CAREER DAY SPEAKERS NEEDED- Wednesday, March 28th between 9am-11am. Please contact Kelly O’Grady as soon as possible if you or someone you know would be interested in being a guest speaker. ogrady@bonita.k12.ca.us. RSVP no later than March 9th.

ATHLETICS

SOFTBALL- Final softball try out will be on Monday, February 12. At Las Flores Park from 3:00 – 4:30. All players are encouraged to tryout and re-tryout if they did not make the first cuts.

GOLF- For golf tryout information, please stop by and see Mr. Sanchez in room 307 at break or lunch.

Connecting Families with Help and Resources

Bonita Unified School District is proud to present the 2018 Parent Partnership Academy.  On Saturday, February 10, 2018, the Specialized Student Services Department will be presenting “Connecting Families with Help and Resources”, a day of teaching, learning, collaborating and connecting.  For the first time, this will be offered to all families in BUSD to help their children realize their unlimited potential.  Sessions will offer information and advice on a variety of topics including homework, new math curriculum, Google Classroom, supporting children with anxiety, digital and social media safety, behavior help and motivating and engaging your student.  Vendors will also be available offering programs and resources to further assist your student.

The day will begin with a light breakfast at 8:00 am, and sessions will begin at 8:30 am.  The last sessions will end at 11:15 am and vendors will be available until 12:00 pm.

The event is free, however, registration is highly recommend for planning purposes.  Please click on the link below to register.
