STUDENTS

JUNIORSIf you are interested in being in the Therapy Dog Training Program for your senior project PACE hours please visit bonitahigh.net/activities/clubs/therapy-dog-training-program/ or stop by room 509 for info. Applications are due Friday, May 12th.

 

STUDENTSOur World, A Day of Empowerment for Girls Workshop (Grades 6-12) is on Wednesday, May 31st at Lone Hill Middle School, from 3:00pm-6:30pm. Pizza party and check in is at 2:30 pm and the event is FREE. For more information and a permission slip, please stop by the receptionist desk.

STUDENTSThe Finance Office will be closed this Friday, May 5th.

STUDENTSThere are currently 100 BHS students who have perfect attendance and qualify for the “Cool To be in School” contest car give away. The perfect attendance list is posted in the front office window.  If your students name is not on the list, and you think that he or she should have perfect attendance, please see Mr. Hanson.

STUDENTSD STREET Tryouts will be June 1-3. Applications are now available in the forms section of the Bonita website and at www.dstreetdance.weebly.com.

STUDENTS AND PARENTSThe Finance office will no longer accept checks as of April 28th for the remaining of the school year. All items must be paid with cash or credit card. If you are a returning student and are purchasing a spirit pack checks will still be accepted.

SENIORS Senior Day at Knotts is Monday, June 5th.  Tickets are on sale in the finance office for $75 which includes an all you can eat lunch, entrance to the park and transportation to and from the park.

STUDENTS Looking for ways to prepare for the SAT?  Kaplan test prep and BHS are offering an SAT class this summer in preparation for the August SAT.  The class will run Tuesdays and Thursdays June 13th through July 11 from 2:00pm – 5:00pm here at BHS. Cost is $360.00. The class runs after summer school classes so you can go to summer school and take the SAT prep class! Pick up a registration form at the front desk and take to the finance office to sign up. Space is limited. Deadline to apply is Friday, May 19th

STUDENTS– Kaplan is offering the following resources to prep for the upcoming ACT and SAT:

Students: Take a free SAT or ACT pop quiz, 20-minute workout, or proctored practice test online, and Kaplan will donate Kaplan course scholarships to students through the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. http://ktp.events/hvlai

PARENTS

PARENTS- Coffee with the Principal will be this Friday, May 5th from 8:00am to 9:00am in the conference room.  We also will have our Superintendent, Dr. Christy Goennier here so you may provide input on the recruitment of our new principal.  The following questions will be discussed;

What are the personal and professional qualities sought in the next principal?

What are the major challenges facing the Bonita High School community currently as well as 3 to 5 years into the future?

What are the strengths and major features of Bonita High School?

In terms of professional and personal skills, what do we need to be careful of, what won’t work at Bonita High School?

We hope you can join us!

 

PARENTS Summer School 2017 will be held from June 12th– July 14th. We will not be holding classes on Tuesday, July 4th as we will be observing Independence Day. Students are only allowed 3 full day absences before being dropped from the program.

PARENTS Just as a reminder, there is no parking or drop off/pick up in the staff parking lot as they are assigned parking spaces.

                   

ACTIVITIES

JUNIORS AND SENIORS Prom will be Saturday, May 13th, at the Promenade and Gardens in Costa Mesa from 7:00 – 11:00 pm.  Permission slips are available at the front desk.  Tickets prices are $70 per person with ASB and $75 per ticket without ASB.  To get the ASB price students must have their student ID card. Prices will go up to $80 on Tuesday, May 9th.  If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Lindsay.

 

ATHLETICS

PARENTS AND STUDENTS– Athletic physicals fundraising event will be on Thursday, May 4 at Pomona Valley Hospital Sports Medicine Center. The physical will be valid for the 2017-18 season and proceeds will go back to athletics. Please see Mrs. Okayama for an appointment.
