Monday, February 13, 2017 – Holiday; Lincoln’s Birthday
STUDENTS
STUDENTS- Any student interested in singing in one of the award-winning Bonita choirs; auditions are being held all next week. See Mr. Helm in room 803 during break, lunch, or after school.
STUDENTS- Students if you need Free Tax Help, please see Mrs. Sekhri in Room 906.
STUDENT- There are currently 178 BHS students who have perfect attendance and qualify for the “Cool to be in School” contest car give away. The perfect attendance list is posted in the front office window. If your students name is not on the list, and you think that he or she should have perfect attendance, please see Mr. Hanson.
SENIORS- It is now time to register for Grad Nite. Grad Nite will be held at a secret location on the evening of graduation, June 7th. Students will meet back at Bonita at approximately 10:00 pm for an overnight party and will be returning at 5:30 AM. This final evening spent as classmates will include, food, drinks, and fun! Tickets are on sale at the Finance Office for $150 per ticket if purchased before April 1st. Informational flyer is attached. Questions? Email bhsgradnite2017@gmail.com
SENIORS- Senior Breakfast will be held at Knott’s Berry Farm on Monday, June 5th. Tickets are on sale in the Finance Office for $70 per Student and includes transportation and a day at the theme park.
SENIORS- be sure to take advantage of PTA scholarship opportunities. Applications can be picked up in the career center or online at the following links.
First District PTA scholarship: www.pta1.org Deadline for submission is February 28, 2017 to the Bonita High School Career Center.
STUDENTS AND PARENTS- We do not accept drop off/ forgotten items in the front office.
PARENTS
PARENTS- Students in grades 9, 10 and 11 have received their pre-registration materials for next year’s courses. Students will have an opportunity to meet with their counselors over the next several weeks during English classes to review their choices. Students must also pre-register on-line at www.bonitahigh.net.
PARENTS- There is no school Monday, February 20th as we will be observing Presidents’ Birthday.
PARENTS- Spring recess is April 3rd– April 7th. Students will return to school on Monday, April 10th which will be a compact day, 1:35 PM release.
PARENTS- Summer School 2017 will be held from June 12th– July 14th. We will not be holding classes on Tuesday, July 4th as we will be observing Independence Day. Students are only allowed 3 full day absences before being dropped from the program.
PARENTS- Just as a reminder, there is no parking or drop off/pick up in the staff parking lot as they are assigned parking spaces.
CAREER CENTER
CAREER DAY- Bonita High School is currently seeking working professionals in ALL areas to be guest speakers at our annual Career Day event held on Wednesday, March 22nd 8am-12pm. Please see the attached flyer for details.
ACTIVITIES
JUNIORS AND SENIORS- Prom will be held Saturday, May 13th at the Huntington Harbour Yacht Club. There will be more details to follow.
ATHLETICS
BOYS SOCCER- The banquet has been scheduled for Monday, March 6 at 6 p.m. at Sierra La Verne Country Club. Cost per person, including players, is $25. Please make your check payable to Bonita High School, and turn your payment into the finance office by Friday, February 17. There will be no sales at the door.
TRACK- Practices will be held Monday thru Friday from 3-5 PM at the track. All Athletes participating in track this year must have their physical on file with Mrs. Okayama by February 14th.
