STUDENTS
JUNIORS AND SOPHOMORES- If you are considering a test preparation course, please note that we have partnered with Kaplan Test Prep to offer their SAT Complete Course at a significantly reduced price. The class will prepare you for the March 11, 2017 SAT exam date and will cost $334 (retail rate at $799). Students must register and make payment in the finance office by Wednesday, December 14th; checks payable to Bonita High School. Registration forms will be at the front desk and they will have a course schedule included. Space is limited and juniors will have priority registration. It will be open to sophomores if the space permits.
STUDENTS AND PARENTS- We do not accept drop off/ forgotten items in the front office.
STUDENTS AND PARENTS- the finance office will be closed starting Thursday, December 15th and will open again on Monday, January 9th, 2017.
SOPHOMORES AND JUNIORS- Attention College bound sophomores and juniors. Find out which college entrance test is right for you. Bonita High School will be offering an SAT/ACT Combo practice test on Saturday, January 28th from 9am – 12:45pm. Cost is $10.00. Find the application at the front desk and take it completed to the finance office to sign up. Space is limited and juniors will have priority. Sophomores will remain on a waitlist and get in only if space permits.
SENIORS- Space is limited! Yearbook is still accepting senior dedication ads. Senior Dedication ads are a great way to personalize the yearbook. Please use the attached form or visit the school website. All payments for dedication pages are due Friday, December 9th to the Finance Office.
STUDENTS AND PARENTS- Bonita PTA Art Expo is here. The theme this year is “The Future through My Eyes.” This is a “contest” for students to have fun and show off their artistic abilities with original entries in the following categories: Drawing, Painting, Collage, Photograph, Writing, Dance, Film Production and Music Composition. Competition is split between 9th/10th, 11th/12th, and Best Buddies. Please see attached Art Expo rules. The deadline for the submissions is Wednesday, December 7th.
PARENTS
COFFEE WITH THE PRINCIPAL- is today, December 2nd at 8 AM in the conference room. Please come and discuss campus topics in an open forum.
PARENTS- Reminder- this survey will be open for parents to participate until Monday evening, December 5th: Bonita High School is in the midst of a self-study for the purposes of being accredited the by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). A WASC team of teachers and administrators will be visiting BHS in late January to assess our self-study. As part of the external evaluation, we are asking parents to participate in a “Parent Survey” whose results will be viewed by the visiting team. You can participate by visiting www.bonitahigh.net and look for the parent survey link.
ACTIVITIES
BAND- This holiday season you can send the BHS Marching band to serenade your friends, neighbors, or co-workers with a medley of Holiday songs or add some music to your own holiday party or family gathering. Choose between December 11th and December 18th in 45 minute increments available from 11 AM- 8 PM both days. It is $100 for 3 songs and you can purchase up to 2 extra songs at $25 per song. Please contact the LVBBA President, Angel San Nicholas at 909-973-8430 to book your time slot today!
CLUB CONNECT- Club Connect is sponsoring a preschool book and outdoor toy drive for our preschoolers with special needs at Grace Miller Elementary! Join us in donating gently used or new preschool level books or sandbox toys/bubbles/sidewalk chalk, etc. Donations will be collected at the east door of the school office from Monday, November 28th– Friday, December 2nd.
PTSA- Bonita HS Personalized Pavers are now on sale for only $150 each. Have your name engraved on a paver for our “Walk of Fame” in the entrance of the school. Hurry, and purchase your spots in the original “Walk of Fame”! It is a memory that will last for years, so don’t miss out! They also make great Holiday gifts. ATHLETICS
CHRISTMAS TREE DELIVERY- the trees are in today, Friday December 2nd and will be available for pick up from 1 PM- 5PM at the tennis courts, closest to the Student parking lot. If you are unable to pick up your tree today they will be available again at the tennis courts, Saturday morning from 8 AM- 10:30 AM.
VOLLEYBALL- the Volleyball banquet has been rescheduled. The new date is still pending, we will update the bulletin as soon as a date has been set.
BASEBALL- will be hosting their 1st Annual Golf Tournament and Banquet on Saturday, December 10that San Dimas Canyon Golf Course. There are 3 different types of sponsorships ranging from $150 per player to -$1200 per foursome. You can also purchase raffle tickets and sponsor in general.
