History of Glenn Davis

The greatest athlete from Bonita High school was Glenn Davis. Davis, who graduated from Bonita High School in 1943, was the 12th winner of the Heisman Award given to the finest collegiate football player in the nation for 1946. Glenn Davis won the award as a star halfback for Army and was referred to as “Mr. Outside” along with his famous Heisman Trophy (1945) running mate Doc Blanchard who was called “Mr. Inside.” In 1997, Glenn Davis donated his Heisman Trophy to Bonita High School. The football stadium at Bonita High School was named in his honor in 1986.

Free Tax Help By Accounting Students

If you had a job last year, get your taxes electronically filed FREE. Receive your refund within a few weeks. Mrs. Sekhri’s Accounting class is filing free tax returns for students and tax payers with income below $64,000.

Get an intake sheet from Mrs. Sekhri and bring it in along with your W-2, Social Security card, and if possible, a copy of last year’s tax return along with any 1099’s you received.

Doria Phillips Award

To apply for this award, you must be a SENIOR student at Bonita High School that is benefiting from special education services. In many cases, students will have an IEP, are currently taking at least one SAI (Specialized Academic Instruction) class, and have an assigned case carrier. If you are not sure if you qualify, please see an SAI Teacher for questions. In addition, you must have applied and been accepted into a post high school educational program (i.e. 4 Year College, Jr. College, Trade School, Military Services, etc.). Lastly, students must hold an accumulated GPA of 2.0 or higher.

The deadline to apply for 2019 is April 22nd.
