“WHAT’S NEW”
FINANCE OFFICE- will be open today, Thursday, March 30th – Friday, March 31st for break and lunch only for Student snack sales. It will be closed for all payments until we return from spring break.
LIBRARY- will be closed today, Thursday, March 30th. It will be open for regular business hours on Friday, March 31st.
“BHS NEWS”
SENIORS- If you already completed the application for Citrus College, the NEXT MANDATORY step will be ORIENTATION taking place this FRIDAY, March 31st!
The workshop will be: 7th period in the library (for students with an Open 7th) OR After School from 3:45-4:45 in the library (for students with a 7th-period class). ****For students who are unable to attend this Orientation, there will be a Make-up Day on Friday, April 21st during 7th period. Please see your counselor if you have any questions.
GIRLS BASKETBALL- banquet is Friday, April 14th at 5pm. Tickets can be bought at the finance office for $15. The last day to purchase tickets is April 10th.
PARENTS- Just a reminder to please complete the California School Parent Survey, 2022-2023 that was emailed to you earlier today.
Your participation is voluntary. It is also very important. The information you provide will help guide district and school efforts to promote safety, enhance learning supports, and improve student achievement.

JOSTENS GRADUATION ANNOUNCEMENTS- are available for pick up during break and lunch with Ms. Ashlie at the front desk. Announcements will not be handed out during class time
ACTION NIGHT- is Friday, April 21st at 6:30pm in the BHS new gym.
PROM 2023- will be on May 20th! Junior class council is working hard on all the details and look forward to surprising our students with the theme for this year’s prom. Tickets and permission slips will be available after spring break. More details to come!
PROJECT THINK- is looking for volunteers for their summer program. Project Think is a non-profit program committed to supporting and enriching the lives of children through excellence in education. For more information and the application see attachments.
STUDENTS AND PARENTS – PTSA’s Nominating Committee are busy looking to fill all Executive Board Positions for the 2023-2024 school year. We are still in need of a President. NO DROP OFF IN STAFF PARKING- Please help us keep our students and campus safe by not picking up, dropping off, or parking in the staff parking lot. This applies to before and after school as well. Spaces are assigned and disrupt the work day for faculty and staff when spaces are taken or occupied. Also, cars going through that lot pose a safety concern for our campus. Students that are picked up, dropped off, parking, or grabbing items from the staff lot will receive a detention.
SENIORS- TODAY, THURSDAY, MARCH 30 IS THE FINAL DAY TO PURCHASE A GRAD NITE TICKET. Seniors are invited to Disney’s Grad Nite. Buy your ticket to join in the fun at Disneyland/ CA Adventure/ Disney’s Grad Nite After Party. (Limited tickets) Date: Wednesday, June 14th from 9:00 am– Thursday, June 15th at 3:00 am. Cost $199. For more information contact Mrs. K. at gradnight23bhs@gmail.com. Grad nite tickets will be on sale during lunch in front of the attendance windows this Thursday only. This activity is NOT sponsored by the school or the district. It is run by a parent organization.
STUDENTS- if you need Free Tax Help, the accounting students can help. See Mrs. Sekhri in Room 906. Ask about Free Tax Help through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program sponsored by the IRS.
NO DROP OFFS- As a reminder, we do not allow any Student item drop offs. This includes food services (Uber Eats, Door Dash, etc). If you need to exchange something with your Student (Guardian or Emergency Contact in Aries), please let your student know ahead of time or via text to meet you in the main office. We are not able to call classrooms to remind Students to come up for drop offs or call them out of class. When coming in to exchange, please enter from the main office doors off of D Street. We thank you in advance for your cooperation. This allows us to keep our campus safe during the school day for all Students.
LUNCH IN STUDENT PARKING LOT– is NOT permitted. Students are not allowed to loiter, mingle, eat lunch and set out chairs in the parking lot at lunch so that we may maintain the safety of everyone.
“BHS SCHOLARSHIPS”
SENIORS- the La Verne Chamber of Commerce is offering multiple scholarships up to $500 each. This is for all graduating seniors whose primary residence is in La Verne, CA or attend school in La Verne, CA. Click on the link for all the details and the application. 2023 Scholarship App
SENIORS – the Bonita High School PTSA Senior Scholarship is now available. The deadline is end of school day on Thursday, March 30, 2023. Please see the attached application for more information. For any questions, please email rachellekillackey@hotmail.com. Applications are also available in the Career Center and can be returned to Ms. O’Grady no later than March 30th.
