Last Friday, February 24th, Bonita High school put on the annual spring Sadie’s Dance. This year’s theme was “Boardwalk: a night-time beach experience.” Hosted by the sophomore class council, the gyms were full of lights, surfboards, stars, and glowing jellyfish. “It was one of the best-decorated spring dances I have seen in a while, and I loved all of the creative homemade decorations the students made, I am so proud of them for planning this for so long, and it being so successful,” Said Mr. G, the sophomore class advisor.
The dance was such a complete success. “I had a lot of fun hanging out with my friends doing all the fun activities there, my favorite was the photo booth and the DJ.” said Sidney S. The new gym had a DJ and dancing, while across, in the old gym there was karaoke, drinks, snacks, tables, and booths. The karaoke was a fan favorite and never ran out of participants. The sign-up sheet was being added to consistently, filling up three pages of singers! Key club put on a photo booth which was also busy all night.
The whole dance ran smoothly, even though it was raining all night, and sophomore class council did a great job in re-organizing the dance to fit the circumstance. “The rain was a setback because we could not use outside, and the food trucks canceled due to the rain. But, we decorated the gyms really cool, and fixed the problem of not having food by ordering got pizza.” Said Kate H, a sophomore class council member.
Per usual, the spring Sadie’s dance was a fun excuse to hang out and dance with friends, without all of the stress of homecoming or prom.
