“WHAT’S NEW”

NO DROP OFFS- As a reminder, we do not allow any Student item drop offs. This includes food services (Uber Eats, Door Dash, ect.). If you need to exchange something with your Student (Guardian or Emergency Contact in Aries), please let your student know ahead of time or via text to meet you in the main office. We are not able to call classrooms to remind Students to come up for pick ups or call them out of class. When coming in to exchange, please enter from the main office doors off of D Street. We thank you in advance for your cooperation. This allows us to keep our campus safe during the school day for all Students.

“BHS NEWS”

CSF STUDENTS- The roster is now available on our website and the students have all been added to the Minga group. Please pay the $5 fee to the finance office by Wednesday, February 22nd. Email r.dolfi@bonita.k12.ca.us if you have any questions.

DEADLINE TO PRE-ORDER YEARBOOK- is Tuesday, February 28. Though we do purchase a few extras to sell at distribution, the only way to guarantee a copy of the yearbook is to purchase by the deadline. Purchases can be made through the finance office. We accept credit cards (with processing fee), check, or cash.

BLOOD DRIVE- Today, February 22nd, our Science Club and Medical Explorers Club will be hosting a blood drive in the library from 2-8pm. Students who would like to donate blood must be 17 years old or older, or 16 years old with parental consent. Students can pick up a parental consent form in the office. Students will receive a $10 Amazon e-gift card and a Red Cross t-shirt for their donation. Students can sign up for the blood drive, as well as check height and weight requirements, by scanning the QR code posted on the flyers around school or with a Science Club or Medical Explorers Club member at lunch. See the attached flyer and parental consent form for more information and see Ms. Barrios in room 301 for more questions.

SENIORS- BHS Seniors are invited to Disney’s Grad Nite. Buy your ticket to join in the fun at Disneyland/ CA Adventure/ Disney’s Grad Nite After Party. (Limited tickets) Date: Wednesday, June 14th from 9:00 pm– Thursday, June 15th at 3:00 am. Cost $199. There will be a booth for payment set up on Thursday, February 23rd outside the attendance office at 1st and 2nd lunch. For more information contact Mrs. K. at gradnight23bhs@gmail.com. This activity is NOT sponsored by the school or the district.  It is run by a parent organization.

STUDENTS- if you need Free Tax Help, the accounting students can help. See Mrs. Sekhri in Room 906. Ask about Free Tax Help through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program sponsored by the IRS.

SADIE’S BOARDWALK DANCE- On Friday, February 24th we will have our Sadie’s Boardwalk Dance from 6-9pm in the New Gym. This is a casual dance that will be held on campus. There will be a DJ, booths with activities, and food. Girls ask a guy, guys ask a girl, or friends ask your friends! Come in matching outfits. Permissions slips are available in the front office. Permission slips must be signed by the library and the front office before you can purchase a ticket. Please give yourself time to get permission slips signed by library and administration. Permission slips take 24-48 hours to be signed. Ticket prices are $30 with ASB and $40 without. Last day to purchase tickets is February 23rd after school and no exceptions will be made.

LUNCH IN STUDENT PARKING LOTis NOT permitted. Students are not allowed to loiter, mingle, eat lunch and set out chairs in the parking lot at lunch so that we may maintain the safety of everyone.

LIBRARY- “Roses are red. Violets are blue. Grab a card and finish the rest.” Visit the Library to pick out a Love or Anti-Love notecard. Write your version of the classic poem and decorate your card. Return your card to Miss Justis to be displayed for the rest of the month. The most creative gets a prize! Blind Date Books are also back in action, so run, don’t walk to find your next story.

“BHS SCHOLARSHIPS”

PTA SCHOLARSHIP FOR SENIORS- Bonita Council PTA, is offering the Barbara Anderson Memorial Scholarship, to graduating seniors in which the requirement is being a PTA member, having a 2.0 GPA and through their personal statement explain how the student has demonstrated involvement in their community/school and or has had extenuating circumstances and continued to maintain school as a priority. First District PTA is also offering a Senior scholarship for those with a 2.0 GPA, those students who demonstrated community service, leadership, have had extra-curricular activities and may have had circumstances in their school years they have gone through. All applicants must return their packet to Bonitacouncilpta@gmail.com by March 3, 2023, midnight. If any student or family member has any questions, please email; Bonitacouncilpta@gmail.com
