“WHAT’S NEW”

SENIORS- BHS Seniors are invited to Disney’s Grad Nite. Buy your ticket to join in the fun at Disneyland/ CA Adventure/ Disney’s Grad Nite After Party. (Limited tickets) Date: Wednesday, June 14th from 9:00 am– Thursday, June 15th at 3:00 am. Cost $199. Grad Nite committee will be selling tickets this Thursday, February 16th during lunch near the attendance office. Please bring a check for $199.00 payable to BHS Boosters and write your name & grad nite on the memo line. For more information contact Mrs. K. at gradnight23bhs@gmail.com. This activity is NOT sponsored by the school or the district.  It is run by a parent organization.

“BHS NEWS”

BHS SENIORS– TODAY, February 10th, Citrus College will be here for step 1 of the application process. Attendance is required to be eligible for the Promise Program which includes 2 years free tuition and 2 years Priority Registration. These workshops will take place in the BHS Library Period 7 (2:30pm-3:30pm) and after school 3:30pm-4:30pm. Students must bring their high school transcripts and social security number to complete your application. Students must have their chrome books (fully charged) and access to Aires for this process. No printed transcripts are needed. Please see your counselor if you have any questions.

NO SCHOOL- There will be no school this Monday, February 13th as we observe Lincoln’s Birthday. There is no school on February 20th in observation of Presidents’ Day. The office will be closed both days.

JUNIOR CLASS RINGS- It’s time to order your Jostens Class Jewelry!  You should have received your ring packet from Jostens.  Jostens will be hosting a family night order on Wednesday, February 15th from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. @ Library.  If you cannot make the family night order event, Jostens will be on campus Thursday, February 16th during lunchtime in the quad to assist you in placing your order. Order during these order days and receive a free cap & gown for graduation next year.  Let’s make this a year to remember!  Questions?  Please feel free to call Jostens at 909-464-9063 or you can email them at olin.office@jostens.com.  They are happy to help!

STUDENTS- if you need Free Tax Help, the accounting students can help. See Mrs. Sekhri in Room 906. Ask about Free Tax Help through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program sponsored by the IRS.

SADIE’S BOARDWALK DANCE- On Friday, February 24th we will have our Sadie’s Boardwalk Dance from 6-9pm in the New Gym. This is a casual dance that will be held on campus. There will be a DJ, booths with activities, and food. Girls ask a guy, guys ask a girl, or friends ask your friends! Come in matching outfits. Permissions slips are available in the front office. Permission slips must be signed by the library and the front office before you can purchase a ticket. Tickets are on sale until TODAY, Friday, February 10th for $10 with ASB and $20 without. Ticket prices from February 13th-17th are $20 with ASB and $30 without. Ticket prices from February 21st – 23rd are $30 with ASB and $40 without.

LUNCH IN STUDENT PARKING LOTis NOT permitted. Students are not allowed to loiter, mingle, eat lunch and set out chairs in the parking lot at lunch so that we may maintain the safety of everyone.

LIBRARY- There has been such a demand for our “Blind Dates” that we are all out for now. Check back next week for a fresh new batch of gift-wrapped books. The library is also always open to suggestions. Is there a book that you are dying to read? Are you looking for more books by your favorite author? Or do you have an idea for a new literacy focus? “BHS SCHOLARSHIPS”

PTA SCHOLARSHIP FOR SENIORS- Bonita Council PTA, is offering the Barbara Anderson Memorial Scholarship, to graduating seniors in which the requirement is being a PTA member, having a 2.0 GPA and through their personal statement explain how the student has demonstrated involvement in their community/school and or has had extenuating circumstances and continued to maintain school as a priority. First District PTA is also offering a Senior scholarship for those with a 2.0 GPA, those students who demonstrated community service, leadership, have had extra-curricular activities and may have had circumstances in their school years they have gone through. All applicants must return their packet to Bonitacouncilpta@gmail.com by March 3, 2023, midnight. If any student or family member has any questions, please email; Bonitacouncilpta@gmail.com
