“BHS NEWS”

 

PARENTS AND STUDENTS- 10-minute Parent/Teacher conferences will take place via Zoom on Thursday, November 3rd, from 1:30 PM to 8:00 PM (except 5:00 – 5:30 PM).  You may make appointments via the DaySmart Appointments site, https://book.appointment-plus.com/9qq0bl26/?service_id=3904, – site will close on November 2nd, 3:00 PM .  Zoom links will be forwarded upon completion of registration.

STUDENTS- The library is hosting a Digital Reading of a few novels featured in the “Month of Horror and Suspense.” Come today, Tuesday, October 25th, during Intervention and lunch to listen and follow along. Are you looking for something fun to pass time? You can now pick up a coloring page of Jack and Sally Skellington from Ms. Justis. Students may turn them back in to be showcased in the library until Monday, October 31st where we will be projecting the movie Nightmare Before Christmas.

 

PARENTS- The access road on campus is closed to Parents and Students during the school day. Drop offs in the morning or pick up after school may result in a detention for your Student. There will be no exceptions. It is a safety hazard for our Students and Staff to have unknown vehicles pulling onto campus during our school day. We appreciate your understanding.

BHS PARKING LOT/PERMITS- All students who park in the parking lot must display a Bonita High School parking permit at all times.  Students who are parking in Visitor, Handicap or Staff spaces will be issued a Saturday School. Students who need a parking permit must complete the google form on the website, print the contract and purchase the permit in the finance office. ($50)

 

5th PERIOD INTERVENTION ABSENCES- All unexcused absences from 5th period intervention will result in an automatic Saturday school.

 

PRIVATE TUTORING FOR ALL GRADE LEVELS- Students looking for help outside of school- contact your counselor for a list of private tutors available for hire.

 

HOMECOMING DANCE- homecoming will be on Saturday, October 29th at Green River Golf course in Corona from 7pm-11pm. Permission slips are available in the front office. You must first take your permission slips to the library and they will sign to indicate you do not have any fines. Then you will pick up your signed form and bring it to Ms. Hurley in the front office (by the health office) to get approval from administration. You will be able to then pick up your permission slip in the office 24 – 48 hours later. You must have all signatures on your permission slip prior to purchasing your tickets in the finance office. Ticket prices are $85 with ASB and $95 without until October 26th. October 26th is the last day to buy tickets. There will be no exceptions. Guest tickets are always the price of a non-ASB card ticket.

 

FOOD DELIVERY FOR STUDENT LUNCHES- We do not allow food delivery services here on campus or to meet a Student during school hours. If food is delivered from one of these services (uber eats, door dash, ect.) the food will be refused at buyer’s expense. If Students are caught receiving a food delivery from a food service listed above during school hours, it may result in a detention.

 

“BHS ATHLETICS”

 

BONITA BASEBALL- Bonita is hosting their 5th annual Golf Tournament on Saturday, November 12th at San Dimas Canyon Golf Course.  Shotgun start at 8AM, check in 6:30AM and entry includes lunch, snacks, and goodies. In addition to golf we have some amazing raffle baskets this year, including a 4-pack of Disney Tickets to enter the park any day in 2023.   This event is always a great time so get your entries in soon and come out and support the Baseball team.  Flyer is attached here with more details and entry forms.

GIRLS SOCCER- tryouts will be held 11/1-11/4 at 6:00-7:30am in the stadium. Please arrive at 5:45 as tryouts will start at 6:00am sharp. All athletes must be cleared from the Athletic Department and wear soccer attire and bring your own water.

CORN HOLE TOURNAMENT- the Wrestling Team is sponsoring a Corn hole Tournament on Saturday, November 5th in the old gym. Wrestlers will be selling entries into the competition for $50 ($25 each person). Please pre-register by purchasing your entry ticket. If you would like, you can also sign up the day of the tournament. Registration table opens at 10 am. The tournament starts at 11 am. One division – all comers – single elimination – cash prizes for the top 3 teams! There will be other activities, raffle prizes, and concessions available during the tournament!

 

BOYS SOCCER- Training/Tryouts are on Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:45-4:45p at the soccer fields. Contact coach Mike with any questions: at m.ditta@bonita.k12.ca.us.

 

ATHLETIC CLEARANCE AND PHYSICAL FORMS- Please make sure your physical AND athletic clearance on file with our athletics office BEFORE try outs. If both are not turned in together completed, the physical will be considered incomplete. No exceptions will be made. Once turned in, please allow 4 to 5 business days to be processed. All completed physical packet should be turned in to the front desk with Ms. Ashlie. Please see attached forms or visit gobearcats.org for additional information.
