Chamber Singers to Perform at Disneyland’s Candlelight Ceremony

Members of BHS Chamber Singers and Alumni have been selected by audition to sing in the mass choir at Disneyland’s annual Candlelight Ceremony & Processional on both Saturday, December 3rd and Sunday evening, December 4th. The choir went through a vigorous audition process and was selected from a pool of applicants that included collegiate, high school, and community choirs across Southern California. Due to post-pandemic guidelines, Disney has significantly cut down the number of applicants selected and only 12 choirs were chosen this year. If you are an annual passholder or have means to come, you don’t want to miss out on this chance to hear and support our Bearcat Singers! This year we included some alumni, so you may see some familiar Bearcats in the photo below.

At Disneyland, Candlelight Processional is scheduled twice nightly on Saturday, December 3rd and Sunday, December 4th, 2022, and is held at the Main Street USA Train Station.

The 45-minute show is a musical retelling of “The First Christmas” story through song and scripture, featuring a mass choir as the centerpiece of the show. The Disneyland Symphony Orchestra, fanfare trumpets, hand bell ringers, and a celebrity narrator will join the choir in this joyous holiday tradition.

In contrast to Epcot’s Candlelight Processional performances that are held dozens of times over the course of the Christmas season in an outdoor theater, Disneyland’s Candlelight Processional is held 4 times, total, and is an intimate affair.’
