BHS Implements Student / Staff Recognition Program

Be Extraordinary Bearcats

Under the leadership of Assistant Principal, Joe Hanson, Bonita High School on Friday, March 25th implemented a new monthly student awards program by recognizing four students, one each in Academics, Activities, Arts and Athletics (4As). We call these students the 4 A Achievers. These students were nominated through the school’s website by faculty, staff, coaches, friends or community members for being extraordinary in one of the 4As. The winning students were announced at lunch on Friday in the quad. As loud music was playing, our 4 A Achievers walked through a line of cheerleaders to a catered lunch served by our Hospitality students. Each winner invited a guest or influential adult to their lunch. Mrs O’Grady, Miranda M’s guest shared:

Miranda was so honored when she heard of the nomination. Today when she saw the setup she commented that she had no idea it would be this big of a deal. I told her that SHE is a big deal and so is all of her hard work. She enjoyed taking a photo next to the sign with her name and qualities on it which were made by ASB. The foods class served us In-n-Out and it was a special little touch that made it so sweet. We talked the whole time. I was able to give her advice as well as get to know her better. She and I both agreed how nice it was to sit and eat and chat together.
