Concert Choir and Chamber Singers Perform at Disneyland

On December 2 – Members of Bonita High School’s Concert Choir and Chamber Singers performed at the Disneyland Candlelight Procession and Ceremony.  The Candlelight Ceremony and Processional has been a Disneyland® Park tradition since 1958, bringing holiday magic to Main Street, U.S.A. This year the guest narrator was CHRIS “Thor” HEMSWORTH.  The 600 member strong Candlelight Ceremony mass choir was the centerpiece of this holiday season highlight and choirs were chosen through an audition. Musical accompaniment was provided by a live, 50-piece orchestra. The performance required much preparation including a rehearsal at the district’s own Bonita Center for the Performing Arts.

The Orange County Register reported that,

“The ceremony started with the choir, holding battery-powered candles, hence the name, walking down Main Street U.S.A. while singing Christmas carols. When they reached Town Square, they climbed the steps in front of the Main Street train station for the Disneyland Railroad and up onto a variety of risers, including a section where they formed a ‘Living Christmas Tree.'”
