Mr. Kenny Ritchie was recently named at the Bonita Unified School Board meeting as the new Principal of Bonita High School starting July 1st, 2017. He will be replacing Derek Bub who has served as principal the last two years and will be moving out of state.
Mr. Ritchie began his teaching career in the Ontario-Montclair School District where he taught science and physical education. In addition to his teaching duties, he coached football and basketball and became the ASB director and a grade level coordinator at the middle school level. In 2004, Mr. Ritchie joined Bonita USD as an assistant principal at Bonita High School where he oversaw discipline, athletics, activities, and curriculum and instruction.
At Bonita High School, he enjoyed the student and staff interaction and participating in the various school activities. After five years at Bonita High School, he served as Principal of Lone Hill Middle School, and under his leadership, the school enjoyed much success. Since 2013, he has served as the Sr. Director of Curriculum and Instruction. He has been able to enhance his understanding of TK-12 curriculum and has had the opportunity to work with amazing teachers at all grade levels.
Kenny and his family have a passion for Bonita High School and the District. Also, Mr. Ritchie continues to invest in the community, volunteering as a coach for youth baseball, soccer, and basketball.
