Assignment 2 of 4: Q23 - 11.1.4 Continued
**Note - The remaining assignments for the week can all be on the same set of pages as Q21 (11.1.4 Preview) as they are all problems from section 11.1.4. Please just draw a squiggly line or something to separate the various days and the assignment number (ex. Q23) in a bubble or highlighted. If you want to do each day on a separate sheet, that's fine too. For each assignment you submit, your name needs to be written in colored ink in the photo you take.
1. Please title this portion Q23 and make sure your name is written in colored ink.
2. Watch this video: https://www.khanacademy.org/math/algebra2/x2ec2f6f830c9fb89:rational/x2ec2f6f830c9fb89:rational-add-sub-factored/v/subtracting-rational-expressions-w-factored-denominators and copy down the example he gives in the video.
3. Read through problem #11-39a and copy down my notes/answer from the corresponding attachment. The main difference between starting a problem like the one in the video versus the problem from #11-39 is that you need to factor each denominator first and write as factors, then start the process of getting the denominators to be common.
4. Complete parts b and c from #11-39 and check your solutions with mine in a different colored pen. Submit to google classroom.
Let me know if you have any questions!

2. Watch the attached video. Take notes on the video on the right side of your notes and copy the example that he gives you during that time. You do not need to write out the original word problem.
3. Complete #11-14. Remember to factor first and then simplify from there. I should see all steps.
4. Complete #11-15. Try simplifying without a calculator. Remember, when you divide by a fraction, you end up multiplying by the reciprocal, so rewrite those division problems into multiplication problems as your first step.
5. Complete #11-16 showing all steps you take, what you are crossing off, etc. You do not lose points for getting a problem wrong. It's important for both of us to see what you can do and then I will provide the solutions for this assignment next Monday, so you can make corrections. Submit to google classroom.

I have attached a copy of my notes if the colorful version helps you. I added a few more notes to mine to assist. I also attached a video on how to find amplitude and period from the equation.
** Remember - midline is an EQUATION of that horizontal line : y = (whatever your k value is, which is halfway between your minimum and maximum)
**A period is how long it takes to complete one cycle of that function
**Make sure you look back in your notes (or google) what a COSINE graph looks like.

Happy Monday Integrated 3! There are 3 things that I am assigning for the week. I will post them all today within the next hour, so you can work through at your convenience. All assignments are due by Sunday at midnight.
I will be working this morning on getting the assignments from last week into the grade book. Moving forward, I will be placing all assignments into a 0% category and you will receive 1 point if you complete it (acceptable by me) and a 0 if you do not turn it in or the work is not acceptable (did not follow directions, did not show work, etc). This is in line with the letter you should have received from Mr. Ritchie. What this also means is that you will NOT see your grade move up going forward as that calculation will happen at the end of the semester, but if you are staying on track with the assignments and turning in acceptable work, then you are fine. Given that we are in a credit or no credit situation, it is very important that you follow each direction. I give you very specific directions, so before you submit, do a once over to make sure it's good to go.
Once I have updated the grade book today, that will be your baseline grade, which means that your grade cannot go lower. Per Mr. Ritchie's letter, from today through the end of the year, if you complete 80% of the work I assign (acceptable by me), then you will move up a letter grade (i.e. if you have a C- then you move up to a B-). If you currently have an A, then you will stay in the A range (although an A- can get ride of the minus).
If you have an A, yes you are currently in the best spot that you can be in, but the new material and review of previous topics will benefit you for math next year.
I will (hopefully) start to grade in Google Classroom this week because I just learned how and that I can upload those grades to Aeries each Monday. Let me know if you have any questions and be on the lookout for your assignments!

Q3 - Polynomial Division
Assigned in Delta math. In order to receive credit, you need to complete the problems on a separate sheet of paper with your name written on the top in colored pen, as well as putting your answers in Delta Math. All work must be shown for all problems. Please refer back to your polynomial division notes in chapter 8.
**For those that prefer using synthetic division - there's one small step to do if the binomial you are dividing by has a coefficient that is not 1. I attached a video for you demonstrating this.

Q2 - Polynomial Graph Review
Assignment to be completed in Delta Math. Please note that going forward, most of the review assignments on Delta Math will need to be accompanied by uploading the work. You do not need to do that for this particular assignment. There are 3 skills for this assignment and you need to get 5 correct of each skill to receive credit.
**One part asks about relative extrema - they are just the bumps and dips on the graph. Relative MAXIMUM is where the function changes from increasing to decreasing and Relative MINIMUM is where the function changes from decreasing to increasing.
Directions to sign up for Delta Math are attached if you have not signed up yet. Please refer to your notes in Chapter 8 for this assignment.

*Important Notes*
1. Please delete your previous google classroom for my class. Given the current situation, I created new Google Classrooms for each period. Please see new codes below and sign up for your correct class.
Period 2: 2z5afnu
Period 4: l6i5keu
Period 6: xhldjto
2. The assignments for each week will be due each Sunday. This includes book work, Delta Math assignments, and Khan Academy. No late work will be accepted. Book work assignments need to be submitted via Google classroom under the correct assignment.
3. In order to receive credit on written assignments- name must be written at the top in colored pen or marker. Work must be clear. **ANY ASSIGNMENTS TURNED IN THAT DO NOT FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS, ARE INCOMPLETE, OR SLOPPY WILL RECEIVE 'NA' IN THE GRADEBOOK**
4. Checkpoint assignments are due this Sunday. Please submit through Google Classroom if you do not see credit in the gradebook already.
5. Assignments will be posted on Google Classroom and copied to this website as well, meaning you can access everything you need in google classroom and do not need to keep checking both. I will continue to keep the BHS website updated for students and parents.
6. I will post your assignments at the beginning of the week. Our plan until May 5 is to do review assignments that review topics from the year and review topics beneficial for Pre calculus. After May 5, we will working through Chapter 11 and the formatting may change slightly, but we will still be using Google Classroom and Delta Math.

Hello Everyone!
I miss seeing all of your wonderful faces! I hope you have all gotten some rest, stayed connected to friends/loved ones, and stayed healthy. My kids have kept me super busy and I watch a lot of Coco. In my free time, I have continued to study for my (postponed) calculus test and I have restarted my Netflix subscription to watch Tiger King. I have seen them all and I'm ready to talk about it as soon as we get back. I also downloaded Tik Tok because I thought it would be really cool to surprise you all with doing one. I became hooked as soon as I downloaded it and watched it for 3 hours straight. I watched several Tik toks that said "you know you are too old for tik tok if you are watching it for several hours," yet I kept going (persevered). The dances are so cool and I could watch the stair shuffle a million times. I had to delete the app the next morning otherwise I would actually watch a million stair shuffles.
I know this is a weird time, but it will pass and I encourage you to find the silver lining where you can and find a way to "reset." In addition to your weekly assignments, your daily homework consists of the following:
- Develop a healthy sleeping schedule, if you have not done so already
- Stay connected to friends/family! (I have several Zoom hangouts per week and I swear it makes a difference in staying connected)
- Try to disconnect from social media (yes even tik tok and I 100% understand how hard that is) and the news cycles throughout the day
- Drink water!
The focus for this week is reviewing radical equations. We are going to be using Delta Math over the next several weeks.
Please keep checking back on this school website. Beginning on Wednesday, whatever I post on this website, I will also post on Google Classroom because I know you are using that for other classes and want to make it more efficient for you.
Please let me know if you have any questions!
Mrs. Hubbs
