PSAT- There are a limited number of seats left for the PSAT which occurs on Oct 10th.  Your student may register at the Finance Office until Monday, Sept. 17 or until all spaces are filled.  Cost is $30.   

STUDENTS- We will be announcing when payment for CSF is due. Please do not pay ahead and wait for the announcement. Mrs. Horine in the Finance Office will not be accepting any payments for CSF until posted otherwise.

JUNIORS AND SENIORS- Are you interested in learning more about Out-of-State or International Colleges? If so, sign up for a free “College 2 Career” college fair event happening on Tuesday, October 9th.  Field trip permission slips are available with Mrs. Nix in the Student Services Office. Space is limited to the first 50 students to return permission slips to Mrs. Nix.

KAPLAN ACT PREP COURSE- We are still taking looking to offer a Kaplan ACT Prep Course (the SAT course is now full.)  We need more students registered in order to offer this course. Deadline for registration is Tuesday, September 18th – cost is $360 and is payable in the Finance Office. Classes begin 1st week in October leading to ACT exam in late October – see attached flyer.

HOMECOMING- Homecoming will be Saturday, September 22nd at Highway 39 in Anahiem. The address is 1563 S. State College Blvd., Anaheim, CA 92806.  The dance will be from 7 PM to 11 PM.Tickets are now on sale and are $50 with ASB and $55 without. The homecoming permission slip is available online at http://bit.ly/hocopslip for BHS Students and http://bit.ly/hocoguest  for BHS guest Students. Please print out the final page, which will still need to be signed by the finance office and library and turned in to Ms. Castro in the main office before tickets can be purchased. Ticket prices will not raise until September 17th, adjusting prices to $60 with ASB and $65 without. The last day to purchase tickets for homecoming will be Wednesday, September 19th.

 

PARENTS

PARENTS- On Friday, September 14th we will be holding a hard lock down on campus as part of our monthly safety practices and procedures.

PARENTS OF SENIORS-If you would like to purchase ad space for your senior in this year’s yearbook, please visit the Bonita High School website and click the “parents” tab or visit www.theyearbookcompany.com for more information. Early bird pricing is until Tuesday, November 6th and space is limited.

PARENTS- We do not accept drop off/forgotten items in the front office. If you need to get an item to your Student, please coordinate with your child to meet in the Office during break or lunch. We will not be able to make exceptions. We appreciate your understanding.

 

CAREER CENTER

STUDENTS- The following schools will be visiting the Career Center this week. Please sign up with Mrs. O’Grady’s sub, Ms. Mireles-Torres if you are interested in attending their presentation. Keep your eye out for posters with the list of schools coming for the month.

STUDENTS- Please see Mrs. O’Grady’s sub, Ms. Mireles-Torres in the Career Center to pick up this year’s work permits during lunch.

 

ACTIVITES

BHS MARCHING BEARCATS RECYLCING DONATION DRIVE- This Saturday, September 15th, the Bonita High School Marching Bearcats will be accepting donations of plastic, aluminum and glass recyclables in the teacher lot from 11am-1pm.  If you have a collection of bottles and cans at your house and don’t have the time to sort it all, we will gladly accept and redeem your items and all of the proceeds will help support the Band program.   That’s this Saturday from 11am-1pm in the teacher parking lot!

Monday, September 17th Rock Around the Clock – wear your favorite band tshirt

Tuesday, September 18th Patterns of the Past – Polka dots, checkered, etc.

Wednesday, September 19th Pink Ladies and Greasers – pink or white shirts                                                                                                                                                                            or leather jackets

Thursday, September 20th Stay Gold Pony Boy – wear yellow or gold

Friday, September 21st Soc Day – wear preppy attire

 

ATHLETICS

WRESTLING- For all Students interested in trying out or are a returning wrestler this year, there will be a Parent meeting on Wednesday, September 19th at 6 PM in room 804.

GIRLS SOCCER- If you are interested in trying out for soccer this year, your physical must be on file and cleared with the athletic office before the end of the month.

PTSA

REFLECTIONS ART COMPETITION- This years PTSA art relections competition will be on the theme “Heroes Around Me”. Submissions are due to Mrs.Venegas at the front desk by tomorrow, Friday, September 14th. Please see the attached for entry form and rules.
