SOPHOMORES AND JUNIORS- The PSAT/NMSQT exam will be administered on campus on Wednesday, October 10th (see attached registration form.)  Registration is limited to 350 students; cost of the exam is $30 and is payable in the Finance Office.  Registration closes on Wednesday, September 5th.

STUDENTS-Any student who did not receive their ID card, can come to the front office during lunch or after school. Any student who did not have their picture taken for an ID card can also come to the front office during lunch or after school to have your photo taken.

STUDENTS- Off campus passes and parking permits will be distributed in the student union beginning Thursday, August 30th.  No passes will be distributed early.

STUDENTS-If any student did not pick up their books or received the wrong book, please come to the library at break, lunch, or after school. Make sure any books that need to be returned to the library are taken care of this week.

STUDENTS- BHS will be a closed campus from August 22th thru August 30th. No Students will be allowed off campus until August 30th with the appropriate pass. We thank you in advance for your understanding.

STUDENTS- Parking permits will be issued the second week of school. Those Students who have filled out an application for a parking permit will be permitted to park until they receive an approved parking permit.

JUNIORS AND SENIORS- SAT & ACT prep classes are offered this Fall at BHS.   BHS and Kaplan test prep are offering prep classes here at Bonita High School to prepare for Fall SAT and ACT exams.  Deadline to register for the SAT class is August 28th. Deadline to register for the ACT class is September 18th. For complete course schedules and how to register pick up a flyer at the front desk.

STUDENTS- Mrs. Sekhri is looking for Teacher aides for Periods 3 and 4. Please see her in room 906 at break or lunch if you are interested.

STUDENTS- Mr. Dukowsky is looking for Teacher aide help this year.  Please see him in room 502.

 

PARENTS

PARENTS- Monday, August 27 is Back to School Night.

  • 5:30pm there is a Math meeting for parents of 9th graders in the Student Union.
  • There will be a bake sale and root beer float fund raiser sponsored by PTSA.
  • 6:30pm is the general parent meeting in Ketterling Court Gym
  • 7:05pm to 8:30pm will be classroom visits

PARENTS- Monday. August 27th, will be a compact day with Students being released at 1:35 PM. Tuesday, August 28th, will be a minimum day with a 12 PM dismissal.

PARENTS- We do not accept drop off/forgotten items in the front office. If you need to get an item to your Student, please coordinate with your child to meet in the Office during break or lunch. We will not be able to make exceptions. We appreciate your understanding.

CAREER CENTER

STUDENTS- Any student who received a work permit last school year or over the summer and is STILL WORKING needs to RENEW their work permit before THIS FRIDAY, August 24th before it expires. See Mrs. O’Grady in the Career Center during 5th or lunch.

STUDENTS- The After School Peer Tutoring Program is now hiring tutors. To apply please pick up an application from Mrs. O’Grady in the Career Center during 5th or lunch.

ACTIVITES

DRAMA- Next week auditions for the Fall Musical Guys & Dolls will be held.

Come either Tuesday or Wednesday to the Student Union, afterschool.

Tuesday will be between 1-4 pm, and Wednesday between 4-7 pm.

Green-Out Friday

CLUBS- If you are interested in starting a Club or renewing a Club, please pick up the club packet from the ASB room in 704.  Club packets must be completed and turned in on Thursday, August 23 to the ASB Room. Club Rush will be held on Wednesday, August 30th during lunch.

ATHLETICS

FOOTBALL TICKETS-Smudgepot tickets are available in the front office for $10 for adults and $7  for children ages 5-12. Students with an ASB from Bonita will be admitted for FREE! Purchase your San Dimas rivalry shirt when you buy your Smudgepot Tickets for $12.

VOLLEYBALL- plays tomorrow at home at 5:30 against San Dimas.  The first 50 students that come out to The Den will receive a FREE Hawaiian Lei.

FOOTBALL-Our Varsity game this Friday night is now being played at Bonita High and it is Senior night. Come out at 7pm to cheer on our team for the only game played at Glenn Davis Stadium.

PTSA

PTSA MEETING- We would like to thank you for your membership in Bonita PTSA and for your part in making our school such a special place! If you haven’t joined yet, there is still time. We will be having our first association meeting in the new gym at 6:30 PM on August 27th. We will be voting on our PTSA budget for the 2018-2019 school year.

PAVERS- Don’t miss out on the special registration offer on a personalized paver. Please see the attached flyer or pick one up at the front desk with Mrs. Venegas. Prices go up on Saturday, September 1st.

E-WASTE EVENT- PTSA is holding an E-waste event on September 1 and 2 in the staff parking lot. Time to get rid of all those electronic items you’ve been holding on to for too long. Please see Mrs. Venegas at the front desk for more information.

BENEFIT APP- Another way to support the Bonita PTSA is to get the benefit app. Use the app to make purchases at your favorite stores at no cost to you and Bonita PTSA will receive a percentage. Please see Mrs. Venegas at the front desk for more information.
