PARENTS – Parent Teacher Conferences will be Wednesday, March 2nd from 5:00 to 6:45pm, each conference is 15 minutes long. Please email Debbie Nix at nix@bonita.k12.ca.us or call her at 909-971-8220 ext 2054 to schedule your appointments with your student’s teachers or his/her Student Services Coordinator.
PARENTS – On February 22nd the La Verne Police Dept will be hosting a Social Media for Parent Night at Bonita High School. The event will be from 6:30pm to 9:00pm, please see attached flyer. The intention for the event is to give our parents an understanding of the dangers of social media, how our children are using it, and the latest trends. This is a parent only event, food and free babysitting will be provided on site by the city.
PARENTS – CAREER DAY speakers needed. We are looking for community members, parents, and industry professionals who can volunteer their time to share their career choices with students in grades 9-12. The event will be Friday, March 25th between 9:30-11am. Please contact Mrs. O’Grady in the Career Center to volunteer or for more information. 909-971-8220 ext. 2065 ogrady@bontia.k12.ca.us.
PARENTS – The February minimum day has been rescheduled to Tuesday, February 23. Please mark your calendars accordingly.

STUDENTS – Come “check out” the library! This week we have a Valentine photo booth where you can come take selfies or pictures of your friends or even your favorite books with your cell phone. “Surrounded by stories surreal and sublime, fall in love in the library once upon a time.”
BLIND DATE WITH A BOOK is here. Don’t judge a book by its cover! Come select a wrapped book, read it and rate your date. You may find true love in the library!!
STUDENTS – Representatives from the Air Force will be on campus during lunch on Wednesday, Feb 17th for students interested in speaking with them.
STUDENTS – Registration for Advanced Placement Tests is now through Tuesday, March 2nd.
STUDENTS – Did you have a job last year? The accounting kids can do your taxes for free. Please see Mrs. Sekhri in room 906 for more information.
STUDENTS – Save the date for the Spring Show “The Mouse that Roared” with show dates March 3rd, 4th, and 5th. The show will take place at the Bonita Center for the Arts: 822 W Covina Blvd, San Dimas, CA 91773
STUDENTS – Pre-registration: All students in grades 9-11 should have received their pre-registration packet earlier this week. Students must register on-line (until midnight Monday, February 15th), and must also submit the written copy of the pre-registration form (last page of the packet) on Tuesday, February 16th. Students will meet with their counselors to review their selections according to the schedule below:
11th graders: Feb 19 – 26
10th graders: Mar 1 – 4
9th graders: Mar 7-10
It is important that students are in attendance during the counselor meetings.
In addition, there will be an Electives Fair in the quad on Thursday, February 11th during period 5 and lunch so that students can obtain valuable information about prospective elective courses.

SENIOR Students and Parents: Need help submitting the FAFSA Application? We will be holding 2- Evening Workshops for families needing assistance with the process.

COLLEGE AND CAREER
STUDENTS- Practice exam for the ACT will be held here on campus February 13th from 9am-1pm. Call (877) 738-7737 to enroll.

ACTIVITIES
STUDENTS – D Street dance team will be attending their first competition of the season with Street Dance USA this Saturday, Feb. 13th at the Downey Civic Theater. The competition runs from 8am-8pm but D Street will compete between 4-6pm if you are interested in attending their performance. More information is available from Coach O’Grady and the D Street members. Wish them luck as they represent Bonita at one of the largest dance competitions around!
STUDENTS – On Friday, February 12th, we will be holding our annual blood drive through the City of Hope. A couple of years ago we made our donation toward Russell Stevens in his fight against cancer. Thankfully, we do not have a staff member or student in need of donations, however, please consider supporting the blood drive. We will take appointments from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
