STUDENTS

STUDENTS – Come “check out” the library!  This week we have a Valentine photo booth where you can come take selfies or pictures of your friends or even your favorite books with your cell phone.  “Surrounded by stories surreal and sublime, fall in love in the library once upon a time.”

STUDENTS – CSF applications are available in front of room 208.   They are due back this Friday, February 5th.

STUDENTS – Registration for Advance Placement Tests begins this Wednesday, February 3rd through Tuesday, March 2nd.  The cost is $92 per exam.  There is a fee reduction for students enrolled the free/reduced lunch program.  Payments can be made in the Finance office.

STUDENTSDid you have a job last year?  The accounting kids can do your taxes for free. Please see Mrs. Sekhri in room 906 for more information.

STUDENTS – Save the date for the Spring Show “The Mouse that Roared” with show dates March 3rd, 4th, and 5th.

The show will take place at the Bonita Center for the Arts: 822 W Covina Blvd, San Dimas, CA 91773

STUDENTS – Have you had a chance to try Pappas Artisanal Restaurant right down the street?  We encourage you to join us February 24th and/or March 2 anytime 5pm-8pm for a fundraiser for The Hospitality program.  We are selling presale tickets for only $10 (will be $15 at the door).  The menu for the event will be your choice of: Bonita Cheese Burger/quarter pound certified angus, garlic aioli, lettuce, tomato, onion, white cheddar (include homemade kettle chips); La Verne Bacon Dog/quarter pound beef dog, bacon bits, grilled onions, nacho cheese (include homemade kettle chips); Chef’s Nachos/fresh corn chips, grilled onions, nacho cheese, sour cream, pico de gallo, bacon bits.  My students will be cooking on the grill, running the cash register, serving, and cleaning.  Pappas Artisanal has been very involved in our program since they opened in La Verne 2.5 years ago.  50% of the sales from this event is going to help cover the cost of our upcoming state competition.  It is a great opportunity for a date night or family night!  And if you haven’t experienced Pappas Artisanal, you WON’T be disappointed!  Thank you in advance for helping support the Hospitality and Culinary students.

PARENTS

PARENTS – Coffee with the Principal is this Friday, February 5th, 8:00am to 9:00am in the conference room.  Please come and discuss topics on the BHS campus in an open forum.

PARENTS – On February 22nd the La Verne Police Dept will be hosting a Social Media for Parent Night at Bonita High School.  The event will be from 6:30pm to 9:00pm, please see attached flyer.  The intention for the event is to give our parents an understanding of the dangers of social media, how our children are using it, and the latest trends.  This is a parent only event, food and free babysitting will be provided on site by the city.

PARENTS – Our minimum day on Monday, February 29 has been rescheduled to the week before on Tuesday,

February 23.  Students will be released at 12:00 p.m.

PARENTS – April 4th– 8th is Spring Recess.

PARENTS – Save the date, Summer school is June 13th thru July 15th.
